Any ideas , i like upgrading stock engines but i’m more comfortable in d or c at the moment.
Any muscle car, NSX, S2000, just about any car that can be upgraded to B Class, can be good.
Not so true on the muscle cars. Muscle cars will really show you a good time in B class if you put the 5.7L V-8 in them. The stock motors just dont compete with that motor 99% of the time
For instance the 69 charger. I can get 100 more HP, More grip, and more speed while using the 5.7 compared to the stock motor.
Engine swaps are a good thing dont look at doing a swap negative or not authentic. Just remember this a racing game and you want to win. I dont know about you but i dont want to line up and know that the other car has me out classed because of a silly motor swap i refuse to do but thats just me.
If you want to drive some of my Muscle cars check out the link below if you would like. They all have the swap to the 5.7. Have a good day!
350z. I think I still have a few low end top 100s and several top 300s with it.
To go along with Swerves choice, the 370Z is also good in B class with the default engine.
Also pick cars you like, don’t necessarily stick to leaderboard cars. I just upgrade the cars I paint and I can always keep with the pack, if you are a good racer then any car can be good for you. You might not always win, but you will be the most satisfied. Drive the cars you love and love the cars you drive!
I’ve spent the best part of a week tuning and painting a Citroen DSR 3. 4 wheel drive conversion and I love driving it Long Beach and other twisty tracks. Granted it struggles on the quicker tracks to keep up (Spa, Road America) but its a hell of a lot of fun to drive.
Forza 5 definitely gives you more options for competitive cars A Class and below. At least its not lime previous games where lobbies were dominated by Lotus Exiges and Audi S5’s.
I have done engine swaps before ,i had a datsun to its limits and any swap just did’nt feel right, same with the early m3, i think in b i have an inferotity complex about the rally swap with full tires. But thanks i’m going to try all your suggestions.
The e30 is usually better with the stock motor in C. I swap the V8 and supercharger on just about everything in B class though. I try to avoid the rally engine unless I’m in an Xbow.
If you have the DLC I uploaded the new Jag with the stock motor. It feels fantastic to drive on Bathurst. If you try mine and like it I can give you the numbers as well. It’s probably the most satisfying drive I’ve had in the game.
Yes i think the v8s the way to go especially with the supercharger in b. Have you ever tried street cams with that engine i got 3 seconds in bathurst i couldnt get any other way.
I’ve always avoided putting in cams unless there’s nothing left. Are you sure the 3 seconds came from the cams? I haven’t tried it. I was just thinking maybe the car needed more speed from the transmission or maybe you replaced some grip with power. I don’t know for sure but I was usually under the impression avoid cams unless it’s Lemans or something.
The 71 AMC Javelin is a great muscle car without putting the LS1 in it. Somehow, some way, the stock 401 is actually lighter than the LS1. Not only lighter, but way more torquey. My stock engine build came out lighter with way more torque and only 2 less HP and that’s the build I frequently run in B class lobbies and it is pretty competitive.
The rally engine is fine but you REALLY have to pay attention to the revs when using it. The power is gone quite a bit before red line. The power graph is a really weird looking hump in it and you need to drive it in the range of the hump. It needs tuned and driven for short shifting compared to red line as a result.
