Glad we got as much info as we did this early out

Full car list, full sound track.

Loss of Mitsubishi
AGAIN no rock/classic rock station.
Pre-order canceled.

Too many other great games coming out in the next 6 months and with the work being done on Forza 7, FH4 is a hard pass for now.
Those two complaints above are my ONLY complaints as of now, but for me are enough to pass on buying the game at launch.

I was really looking forward to this game when they first announced it.
Hopefully by time I buy it next year they’ll have been able to acquire the licencing for Mitsubishi, and maybe Toyota will (implied removal of body part from orifice) and give us back their cars.
(Although at this point the more time passes the more it seems they made an exclusivity deal with Poly and the GT series and are using the weak loss of sales argument to try and keep that a secret.)

Okay. You’re cancelling your pre-order of what will likely be the top racing/driving game available in 2019 and it’s because of 6 cars not being in the game and a missing radio station? Hmmm … okay. We’ll see you next time.

That’s really weak, but it’s your choice, so cheers!

And you say Toyota’s excuse is weak…

I guess it should be asked will all game features be available at launch? Better to tell us now than surprise us with an unfinished game again. It’s not right. If not, a timeline ASAP - before release

We got plenty of information till today. The map, Horizon Life, how the progression will look like, we have the car list. I don’t think they hiding tings from us. As for the “unfinished game again” … well I wasn’t there at the start of Forza Horizon 3 so maybe I missed something. I was only watching YT videos and to me it look like a polished game… Maybe you wonder if the 2 expansion and all DLC will be there from the start? No they won’t… the game will be unfinished, for sure.

Sorry, I am concerned because of the way Froza 7 was released with almost every feature like leagues and the auction house saying coming soon for months. There were only a few hoppers at launch. Leagues and the auction house as well did not come until many months later. H3 had a terrific launch and everything was pretty much working. Forza 7 looked great too from the info we were given. Than surprise! They did say I believe that some features would come later before Forza 7 was launched to be fair. This is how the game industry just is now. Release and add features later. So it is a legit concern and it also caused this forum to lose its mind. What we don’t know as of yet and even the demo will not help to see, is if the PI system is balanced better. 1500HP AWD cars gets old fast, kind of ridiculous even for an arcade racer. All the people a played H2 with were put off by that and basically stopped playing. I know more tire options are coming but is that going to be enough? We will not know this until the game is released. H2 was balanced far better. I am not concerned with expansions or DLC pretty much at all. I will get them I am sure but I can wait for that although I am sure they know by now. Certainly the first expansion if not both are in development already. They can keep those secrets for now. I like that kind of surprise. I wouldn’t want to know yet.

You made some valid points there. I haven’t tough about that to be honest. Regarding online features I think there are legit concerns about features being locked from the start… specially for the early access games. I’m more of a long run player so i didn’t miss those features in FM7 from the start. When it comes to balancing PI system… I don’t think they can do much. The homologation system in FM7 was an alternative but so many out there was disappointed. We will sure see a lot of OP cars in this Forza game as well. :S

I can see OP’s point. This game is supposed to move consoles for Microsoft. They’ve been so good at such, that they became a first party developer for MS.

I even bought an Xbox One X for this game. I’d been holding off on it after the extremely unimpressive launch of Forza 7, and went for a PS4 Pro at the time to play other titles that interested me in 4K and HDR. That said, I returned it yesterday evening. The whole game feels like they’re phoning it in. I understand that there’s nothing they can do about Toyota and Mitsubishi, but it’s everything else that isn’t impressive that just makes their loss the cherry on the cake. The car list is more fitting for a game set in Tennessee than it is one in the UK, and a lot of that could have been fixed by including cars that were in recent previous titles. We still have an issue of roads not requiring any steering. The DLC is either going to be full of cars from previous titles or the cars that people want from previous titles are just not going to be included despite all the effort scanning and modelling those assets. It’s the same tired story.

The Forza franchise just keeps moving sideways and ever so slightly forwards. The content we have now has hardly changed since FM2 .

One of the big reasons I love Forza is the car list but FH4’s car list is seriously lacking for me personally. This is probably the weakest car list since the original Horizon. Most of my favorite cars are gone, as well as Most of the Toyotas and all of the Mitsubishis. With changing seasons as the only major new feature, there’s just not anything to entice me with this release.

I bet you get it anyway

Just because I have 8 Forza games on my ForzaMotorsport.net profile doesn’t mean I’m a blindly loyal fanboy. I only buy Forza games if they have the cars and features that I want.

I skipped over FH1 and FM5 for the same reason. The only reason I have them now is because they were free on Xbox Gold. Forza games are a magnificent value for the price. I get thousands of hours of enjoyment from a single title. If I find an entry in the series isn’t very interesting, I don’t buy it, because there is still plenty for me to do in the games I already own.

ya, I was a bit annoyed with the major cut back on rock, metal, punk and all especially considering there are tons of punk, rock and metal in Europe they could’ve used… heck some of them were in old Horizons. But get spotify and go crazy making playlists. I know it isn’t the same like 3 but it’s at least an option.

The second thing you said isn’t even up to them. Probably a good reason Horizon wasn’t in Japan, they are being ultra silly with the brands lately.

Could the loss of Mitsubishi mean that it will be gone in FM8 as well?

It would depend on why they pulled out, and if they can agree a new deal. Given that we don’t know the reasons for Mitsubishi pulling out, it is impossible to say

I’m just glad it was ‘only’ Mitsubishi and not Nissan, Honda or Mazda…
