I just purchased the game and have been playing for the past few days, I’ve never played any racing games (I don’t think asphalt 8 counts because it is not as realistic as forza) so I’m really having a hard time controlling the car. For example, I’m doing the cross country race but whenever I turn the car just lose control. Every time I try to accelerate and it just lose control very easily when I want to turn, although I have followed the braking lines and slowing down whenever possible. It is impossible for me to get so many credits because I always end up last in the race and it is really demotivating. I might be considering purchasing the VIP pass just for the credit boost.
So here are my questions:
I’m on automatic and I’ve read that you should do manual or manual w/ clutch. How should I start? (I’ve watch a bunch of youtube videos but it is just too confusing)
What’s the difference for 1-7? I noticed that when you reach the red line in the speedometer and shift up one level, the car stops producing the ‘weird’ sound.
Tips for turning? And not losing control of the car?
I apologize if these questions sound really stupid but I really appreciate your responses, thank you for your time have a good day everyone.
Try putting a tune on the car or look in the tuning section here for what could be available for the car you wish to drive. Driving automatic is not the end of the world, there’s some very fast drivers who can be found at this forum who drive with automatic gearbox, besides if your new to racing games, don’t bite off more than you can chew. Once your down with the basics and are a bit more settled with the racing on Forza you can then look to broaden your ability by driving manual or manual with clutch and looking into tuning your own cars.
If you are just starting out, I would not worry about manual or manual with clutch. It sounds as if you have bigger things to worry about first.
It looks as your assists are ok. I suggest you go to the airport, and learn how cars handle to begin with, Also, think about the real world and how cars behave and that is what you will get in the game.
Pick a car. Go to the airport, and practice good throttle control - from a standstill, do a 0 - 100 run as fast as you can, focus on starting out straight, don’t spin the tires, and don’t leave super long 11s - practice good braking sense - practice threshold braking, don’t lock up your tires, brake in a straight line without leaving 11s - and practice good steering input. Then, combine the three. Try taking off, braking hard to take a corner (make a u-turn maybe) and get back on the throttle.
Once you’ve improved at general car handling - then start playing around with transitioning to manual/manual with clutch and creating your own tunes. In the mean time, feel free to search for setups or stick to upgrades only. Once you’ve gotten things under control a bit, expand your horizons!
Welcome to Forza, and don’t forget - have fun! Don’t feel bad, whatever settings you need to have fun, stick there for a while. If you’re not having fun, you’re not doing it right! It’s not worth doing if it isn’t fun.
Also upgrade the parts of the car you are using that help with handling. Like better brakes, wider tires, sport or race type tires, lighten the car, and stiffen it. Lower the ride height unless your going cross country.
