Hi there ![]()
I just thought a bit about Forzas structure (as in menu-flow), what we have right now isnt …optimal imo.
However, I like a few things Turn10 did on Forza 5, e.g. the (initally irritating) removal of a dedicated Time Trials section, which got redundant through the spiced up Rivals mode.
Looking at a few other things they did, I thought the direction they took isn`t entirely bad, just not consequent.
Cut short, I think merging all racing modes into one hub and getting rid of “Quick Race” along the way would be a nice way to handle things.
I made a quick overview how that could look like (dont mind the design, its just about the structure):
-At the bottom its a class selection like we have it on Rivals right now. -It leads to "events" like we have them on the Career, covering the straight stuff like "class stock", "class tuned", as well as the specials Forza usually offers like "European cars only", "Muscle cars only", etc.). -Each event leads to its own Championship (=Career), Single Races (=Quick Race), Rivals, and maybe Multiplayer Hoppers. I dont know Forzas MP enough to know if that would work.
-For the Championships you would need cars you purchased.
-Single Races would offer all tracks (like Rivals does) and can be done with rented cars, but rented cars wouldnt earn you anything and can only be auto-upgraded to meet event requirements. Its actually similar to the Bonus races they open up in the career right now, just available right away.
-Rivals in this case would end up offering a few more specialized options, but not too much to handle I think.
The structure would also allow casual players to quickly get to drive what they want where they want, with enough incentive to still care about doing career races.
(A casual playing mate of mine was almost in tears when he couldn`t take a peak at his favourite car starting Forza 5 first time)
Oki, well …hope I didn`t bore everyone to death, just needed to get the idea out of my system.
Note to mods: Yes, I am aware of the Features wishlist, but I think this is a bit too specific for that.
