Game DLC question.

Hi all.

This may sound a silly question but…

I own a disc LCE copy of FM5 but want to buy the DLC version so I can give my nephew my disc game. Plus I want to go all digital downloads.

When I go to store to buy the game it just says “play” rather than buy.

I’m guessing I will need to un install the game from the hard drive first before I can buy/ use a dlc code version?
Also will my vip /season pass and all dlc and my profile still be safe as they were separate codes or will they be uninstalled/lost if I remove the game from the HD?

Any help appreciated.

I have the LE version on disc. I just want to buy in in digital version (well the std game) and still use the dlc extra content …ie vip and season pass with all packs.

If I delete loaded came off HD and buy the std digital version do I keep vip and all car packs and keep my profile?

Ah, I think I misread. Since you’ve already redeemed the Bonus DLC code for the LE on your profile, it (and any other game-related DLC you installed on your profile) should stay linked to your profile regardless of the game installation status.

If you go to Manage Game from the dashboard and then press the controller Menu button on the game image, you can choose Uninstall which will tell you “You’re about to uninstall Forza Motorsport 5. You can reinstall any time, at home or on someone else’s console.” Doing that should just uninstall the game, not the DLC, and and from there you should be able to see if you can then buy the game from the Store as a digital download.

If you still have trouble enabling the Buy option on the dashboard store, try using the “Download from Xbox Store” button on Xbox.com:

My nephew wants the game and I have decided to go digital rather than disc. Can get FM5 at a discount price now.

Try this. Remove disc from tray. Try to start fm5. A message should come up that will hopefully lead to a purchase option.
