Game crashing after initial menu on PC

I get to the first menu and select Continue. It then cycles through a few images with the loading circle. Then the screen goes black and the loading circle stops. It then never comes back to life.

I have tried: Changing RAM, different boot SSD with a brand new install of Windows, removing overclock, different GPU drivers.

Any help is appreciated because obviously I paid to play the game early, and have not been able to play it at all really, so a massive waste of my money. I have submitted a support request but have not heard anything back yet.

System specs:
i5 4670K @ 4.0Ghz
MSI Z87 MPower motherboard
Reference AMD RX480 8GB
32GB Corsair Vengeance RAM
Corsair HX850 PSU

As I posted in another thread, the game worked perfectly for me until the patch that was issued yesterday. Now, when I select continue, the game crashes between 1 and 4 seconds after my active car appears, before the welcome back clip is played as the menu is shown.

Sounds like yours is crashing just before mine.

Yeah, I don’t get to the point of seeing my car. And it hasn’t been working since launch. I’ve even been having dark thoughts of buying an XBox today!!

My game is also having the same issue, it either crashes as soon as i change video settings, or when it starts to load in with the circle it immediately crashes, i know others are having an issue but i totally agree about being a waste of money, unless they come out with a fix soon for it.

Afterburner/RivaTuner was causing my crashes. Haven’t crashed since I stopped using Afterburner while playing.

Same, neither of those installed here.

This is not a definitive fix, if a fix at all. The real question is how to make the game work no matter if you have these programs in the background. You know, like any other game…

Same issue here. It worked perfectly until yesterday evening, but suddenly crashed when i bought a house and i can’t start again since then.
I don’t use rivatuner or any such program, no overclock, updated drivers and windows.
Really sad panda here… :frowning:

Same issue here, working fine in early access played 4/5 hours Sunday.

Yesterday / today the game crashes after the initial menu. Hopefully they patch soon!

I resetted the application to force re-sync my saves from the cloud. It seems it helped and works now. I really hope it’s permanent.

No, it’s not permanent. After a few race its starting again. It’s clearly some kind of save/load issue.

Experiencing the same issue myself. Game went thru a few images while loading after a race then black screen with a frozen loading circle. Rebooted, got the same issue 3-4 times trying to load in off of the main menu. I gave up and went and played another game for an hour, came back and the game loaded just fine, ran one race and it started the same cycle of freezing over again after the race.
