FWDs Taking Over!?

Recently I’ve noticed an absurd amount of people driving FWDs in B Class. About 4weeks ago this was non-existent. These FWDs, no matter who’s driving them all seem to have the same builds on each car and are insanely fast. As it is right now… These and the Subaru WRX are just [Mod Edit - very inappropriate - DE] the lobbies.

Am I missing something with the FWDs in B Class? I have a few fast FWDs but these builds that are going about are incredible. The seem to dominate on any Track too.

I’m assuming by “FWD” you mean four wheel drive? and not front wheel drive? Assuming so because you mentioned a WRX. Yeah they are good in this game, better than last year but not OP by any means.

FWD = Front Wheel Drive… If I meant Four Wheel Drive I would have said 4WD or AWD. I mentioned the WRX because it’s all the FWDs plus the WRX that seem to be incredibly quick in Lobbies.

Ah okie doke. Wasn’t sure…only cause I haven’t seen too many FWD’s in lobbies myself. Have to keep an eye out then. Maybe it’ll give me some inspiration to make a couple.

I haven’t personally witnessed many FWD cars In B class so far, but maybe it has something to do with engine swaps?

Same here. Working on making a Front wheel civic in A class.

Are you sure the cars are running FWD setups? A lot of people convert FWD cars to RWD as it gives a PI advantage.

I run FWD but I keep them FWD. I just prefer how FWD’s handle.

They’re definitely running FWD, you can check by pressing A on the Driver in the Lobby. They’re all using Aero and the Stats seem to be around the same for each car… 5.1 Handling and 8.1 Acceleration. It’s mad and they’re ultra quick.

FWD cars are actually really nice. not sure on the 5.1 and 8.1 because most of my b class front wheel have around a 5.3 handle and 8.3 accel. I think the best thing about them so far is if your on a track where there is a big speed difference if you run over the rumble strips the FWD is usually abetter suited for doing so IMO. Also looking at stats isnt everything. I have plenty of cars with less accel but can still stay with or in some cases pull on higher accel cars. Its all about corner exit and FWD cars seem tohave great corner exit speed and stability.

I wish my Forza tier didnt say tier 1 since i have a tier 5 or 6 lol

all the FWD cars have diff came a long way since forza 4. they are alot easier to handle on fm5.

I will agree with that, in FM4 I hated FWD cars because they drove just like most FWD drive in real life (i.e terrible), in FM5 many drive really nice the way only a few very exceptional ones do in real life.

If you get a good build to reduce under steer as much as poss , then i like them  otherwise ill stick with my RWD

OP, are you complaining that they are too dominant? Or just that you haven’t seen them until now? I think B class is the greatest example of how balanced this game is. FWD, RWD, AWD, muscle, import…no matter what you want to run can be competitive. I think it took longer for the tuners and racers to realize that we don’t have to run ONLY RWD acceleration monsters…the FWD cars are lighter usually and can put race tires on them usually and that means pretty quick laptimes. As for the WRX, haven’t really seen anyone jump into a room and dominate with one specifically but I have seen and I personally have several AWD cars that I can run at any track I want and can win with. I prefer running muscle cars, but its nice to change up once in a while and run FWD or AWD cars…again why I like the way the game is so balanced.

I’m not complaining. Any car can be fast. I wouldn’t go as far as saying they’re Leaderboard Cars, although it is close, I’m just asking if anyone else is noticing the trend.

I race mostly in B class, and haven’t noticed anything strange in particular other than the usual yo-yos that are racing in the lobbies. There were about 12 racers on Le Mans Old Mulsanne last night and 8 of them were running either 04 Subaru’s or R34…they weren’t exactly setting the track on fire. Like Dust said, FWD has always been competitive and I think people are just catching on.

It will probably be the 1.6 engine swap.

I hate that engine. It’s so annoying to drive.

I am not a fan but there is no denying the acceleration it has. I like Dantastic’s 22b that uses that engine.

Thanks for the recommendation, will have a look at it

I love using FWD in B Class. I use a Focus RS and usually get first, unless I’m wrecked in the first few corners or on the rare occasion that there is a good driver and that becomes a fun battle. I don’t see many other FWDs out there though sadly.
