Full rotational steering wheel physics/animation in FM?

I still drive with the arm visible, I like the immersion of that. 360 degree is good enough, I drive in cockpit view in F1 games also and even in rally games.

Nice eye! Absolutely zero reason for that to exist if it’s not going beyond.
This is actually fantastic and is making me way more excited for the game than it has any right to do.

It depends on the vehicle. Forza will have a wide assortment of cars in it. Not just formula and GT3’s with yoke steering wheels. I expect racing in FM8 to be more like this…

(6261) BMW 320i WTCC FULL POWER Onboard Nurburgring - YouTube

And also plenty of this will happen…

(6261) Onboard: Spinning a Ferrari 458 GT3 - YouTube

Hopefully the Turn 10 will accurately represent the vehicles, as best they can. That way we get some of this…

(6262) James Deane | Irish Drift Championship | 2016 Rd1 Onboard - YouTube

Instead of this…

(6262) Forza Motorsport 7 BMW E36 Drift (Cockpit view) - YouTube

O.o

Good luck with that stance.

I’d rather have adjustable views

I made a photo gallery on the forums. When I posted more photos it immediately marked it as solution! There was nothing to solve!

what if you lose traction and go sideways then? something that happens when racing you know

this race series are almost like forza IRL car wise, we can pretty much drive these cars in the game

720 correcting a slide (not full lock)

over 360 turning a hairpin

1080 slide after miss shift/brake lockup

450 turning a hairpin

More proof of more rotation than previous games here: https://youtu.be/XknRih1RegQ

One person, the original poster

You can probably guess that persons opinion via that solution

Good, now I can prepurchase even though it may not have seat adjustments and HUD resizing and repositioning. May be Forza Motorsports 2024 will have that.

Finally! 100% confirmed now that after 14 years the 180 degree radius is now history. Massive W Turn 10!

Other games has it, like The crew motorfest + Midnight club LA and Driver: San Fransisco on the XBOX 360

Judging from the way the wheel is going back and forth, this is controller game play…

So you can have more than 90º of animation with a player on controller! I wish I could find the guy who said otherwise…

Nope… Those drivers all took their hands off the steering wheel. They didn’t cross their arms, all Dhalsim style when things got out of shape. I’m calling shenanigans on this one, Blue. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

But seriously though. That is what the majority of racing in Forza will look like. The whole “cars are built, not bought” thing, basically means that cars that were street spec at some point will be made to be competitive on the track. And from what you’ve shown… Things happen while racing. And sometimes the driver will have to turn to full lock, or turn well beyond 180º. It would be great if Forza Motorsport shown this accurately. It heightens immersion. And judging by the thread complaining about accurate car models, plenty of people care an awful lot about immersion and accuracy…

Hopefully these will be added in time. We just have to continue pushing for it.

YES YES YES. This is the only thing I have been itching for someone to talk about, the steering animation is atrocious by the clips we’ve seen at gamescom, they seriously need to use this whole month to make the steering wheel animation look realistic like iracing, assetto corsa, f1 etc

without it i dont see it beating GT7 and also most people are gonna resort to playing in third person

"their main market’ is anyway tiny. They are trying to expand it to “other’s main market”.

When we speak about market it’s not the number of customers but the amount of revenue it can generate. The one playing in cockpit view will pay much more for a quality DLC than the one in chase view who might move on from the game after couple of months. iRacing is 15 years old and each car sells for $12. The sim market is a lot bigger than the arcade market in terms of money and the Forza makers know it.

Source? I don’t know about console but Steam charts says 13k average active players last 30 days for FH5

Also I look at Twitch view counts and iRacing or AC usually has more than FH5.
And another thing is FM user base is not same as FH user base.
