I was a little concerned at first, but was able to get through it fairly easy. There is a pretty good YouTube video on this if you GOOGLE it [sorry not to provide specific link}. I did the Porsche 918, went to Prague, grabbed a drift tune, and followed the Free Play set up instructions on the video. It was all done in 10-15 minutes. Again, sorry not to provide all the specifics, but I hope this helps point you in the right direction.
P.S. I did have to wait for the time to expire to see my lap register. This first time I got a little impatient (had it set to 8 minutes) and exited, but I had over a 15k drift score. I reset time to 5 minutes and it was still plenty of time to get 15k hitting replay, spinning out, completing full lap, etc. Good Luck!
There’s no need to do all that. There really isn’t. I’m by no means an especially skilled drifter (or maybe I am, and I just don’t know it), but it took me all of two turns on Maple Valley in an auto-homologated '18 GT2 RS to get to 15,000.
I’ve given this challenge so many attempts I’ve almost made myself sick to my stomach watching the screen go around and around on me. I read all of your posts and I felt really encouraged by them to give this another go (for another two hours). One thing that was not mentioned was if those that were able to complete this were using a wheel or the controller. I do not have a wheel, and I cannot use all of the features (manual etc) on the controller due to an injury. Expecting something to rob me of any progress was not left unfilled as when I did get a good amount of points accumulated, the rear of the car ALWAYS spins around on me regardless to me steering, not on the accelerator, brake usage etc. I am guaranteed to not get much more than 5K. I was even rolling forward with 7K of points only to have the rear of the car magically swing around on me as if I just drove onto black ice. Even breaking it up into small amounts didn’t help as then I was then just not making any points at all.
I won’t get into the discussion if drifting is a sport or not. I don’t mind watching it, I think it looks cool. But I absolutely hate doing it myself, and is not something I can do, even in my real car that has more than enough power to do so. I just don’t like doing it, and I am physically incapable of doing it on the controller. This means, for me, I am required to buy a wheel-pedal setup in order to complete this challenge. (Same situation as the 911 chase.) I’ve done everything else in the game as it is supposed to be accomplished, however, this drifting nonsense I will not be able to accomplish, despite the extra 5 days on the event. Like the sole item on the Elite Forza Cup (911 Chase) I cannot complete these two events. It’s a shame as I really love this game, but apparently, the game doesn’t return the favor that well.
Hopefully the devs see this and make some sort of adjustment so this is not impossible to complete. Or make it go away so it’s not a festering wound to see every day I log into the game. I was looking forward to seeing new Forzathon challenges, but seeing this dreaded nonsense extended nearly a week, I gave it another go with expected results. This challenge can be extended another year, I refuse to waste any more time on it. I hate to say that, but I do expect this game to provide enjoyment, or a sense of release into imagination, but instead this challenge (and the 911 showcase for that matter) have left only frustration and fostered a severe distaste for Porsche’s in general both real and virtually. (And that includes me having lived only a 15 minute walk to the production plant in Zuffenhausen for five years too.)
I am not a drifter, but I was able to do it at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Make sure you go into free play, use the Porsche 918, select the oval, and make the race type a drift event. Get a decent amount of speed going low into the turns and hit the e-brake. You just have to shoot for around 4k points per corner and you’ve got it! I can’t remember exactly, but hitting the corner between 140-160 worked well I believe. Once you complete a lap, it shows you your point total for it. I suggest setting the event for 5-10 laps and after you get your 15,000 point lap just finish out the race. Good luck!
Not yet was quite supprise as was kind of expecting it to start at the same time as the Horizon 3 one dose. So guess were just left guessing once again.
Using the mercedes amg(Its in the picture to the right of the first challenge 180 mph)I cant for the life of my go 180 in that car.I get maybe 160 on the backstrech then it slows down.I go almost 200 with the f1 type car.Advice please. Thanks
Truth be told I would be supprised if I could not get almost any car in the game to reach 180mph. Well mabey the Isetta but are we really going to call that a car.
All you need to do is tune the car ignore any warnings you get about Homognised and max that car out PI wise change the Engin, Gearbox, tyres, stripp as much weight a off as you can and you will have a 220mph+ Car to throw arround the track.
I have a Ford escort that dose about 221mph average speed on that track it will sit on 220mph in the bends and hit about 229 down the strait. Got ta love the Tune shop Were the impossible and improbble become digital realiaty:laughing:
Wow thanks.I need to try that. Thanks for the help.I was alittle lost on what car ect…BTW when you did that could you tell you completed it?Trying to complete all 3 but ive read it might unlock and might not.Thoughts? Thanks…
What I liked about the Horizon system was that every challenge was known on a monthly basis. That often gave people a few weeks to write up guides for each event, create Paints and Tunes and organise Multiplayer sessions when required.
I like how each #Forzathon is multi-stage now but the downside is that we don’t know any of the challenges ahead of time.
I haven’t played for a few weeks but I remember a dirty lap wouldn’t count towards Forzathon progress. Tonight I sat down to do the “This is Forza Motorsport 7” for the Mustang 302 FE and set up a 5 lap race on Maple Valley. After completion I only had 3/5 laps completed on the Forzathon page and immediately remembered the dirty lap restriction, which I had a pair of that race, so from then on I just added a couple of extra laps to my free play races in case I flubbed. I then get to Prague which again I set up for 7 laps and on the second lap I went a bit wide into the cones which dirtied my lap with the “press Y to rewind” message as well as the ! next to that lap’s time. However when I crossed the start/finish line on lap 5 the achievement award popped up. So I’m now confused what does and doesn’t invalidate a lap
When Forzathon was first active it was so buggy I wouldn’t really consider any rumors about what did or didn’t count as gospel. I know I never worried about clean laps as I did all my races for Forzathons in Freeplay races with the minimum required laps and a full grid of Unbeatable Drivatars. I might get one or two clean laps, but not all of them.
I’m going to chalk it up to being just buggy. Currently working on the Porsche event and am stuck on the 1 lap, 15k drift score. I’ve done at least 6 single lap events of Maple Valley where I’ve netted 20-30k points each time yet it’s showing me 12k/15k progress on the event. The kicker is I’ve not done a single lap where I scored 12k.
One day left for this event. I must have done 10 laps in 5 different Porsches, getting 15k+ every time, but still nothing. Forgive me if this has been answered elsewhere, but how are you supposed to complete this? Does it have to be a clean lap, in a certain mode, on a certain track etc? If the Forzathon description only specifies getting a 15k drift score, that should really be the only condition to be met.
Make sure you are in Free Play and that the race or event type is drift. After you get the 15,000 point lap finish the race and let it load the next before exiting. That worked for me. I also did it with a 23 car field.
After many attempts, I finally completed the 15,000 points on 1 completed lap drift challenge, and in fact managed to do it twice after the challenge did not appear as completed in Forzathon.
After completing it the first time,I went and played the next drift challenge. It did not appear in Forzathon as complete, so After a few more goes, I completed it again. It was done in Freeplay, drift mode. I then rebooted the Xbox, and it still has not appeared as complete.
This is quite frustrating, took me hours to master the wheel, and tune to get there. Is there a fix coming?
