Forza uploading game save during online play causes disconnections.

Having been disconnected from every online championship part way through today I did some digging around to find out what is causing it.
The disconnects often happen during end of round/ start of the next round loading - though sometimes happen randomly during play and in free roam.

With the task manager open and playing forza horizon 4 in windowed mode I observed that the process “service host: xbox live game save” was using all my upload bandwidth during these times when it disconnects me from an online lobby.
The service appears to be uploading/synchronising my game save during round switch hogging all the upload bandwidth for a good 10 or so seconds causing a disruption to the game server.

The game usually only uses around 0.1Mbps of upload bandwidth during play (I have 10Mbps down and 0.6Mbps up) and my connection is more than fast enough to support this.

This never used to happen - I’m not sure if my game save has grown in size causing it to take longer to upload?

Can you fix this?

Hello a ticket has already been submitted a few days ago (without a screenshot though #20973) - but it has been marked as solved by an agent?
My FH4 game save folder is currently 80MB which can take a significantly long time to upload on my connection (though I’m not sure how many of the files are uploaded each time). 9 times out of 10 I end up being disconnected from a match because this service hogs all my upload bandwidth.

It would be great if you could implement a bandwidth limit on the game save upload/synchronisation to prevent it from causing lag and sometimes disconnections.

Pretty much every time this game save service starts it disconnects me from an online match or online freeroam :frowning:
It appears you cant disable cloud saves either.

“Solved” because support informed me that one of my 4 issues will eventually be solved with the next update.

PLS fix. People with low bandwith are suffering.

Has this been fixed during our most recent update? (You can find our most recent update notes here).

Nothing got fixed. I’m still having the “Garage Full Message” Bug.

But I MAY have fixed the Disconnects myself. And it seems to have to do with Windows Update Settings. It seems like Windows Update are shared for all Users by Users, so you have to deactivate that, or at least limit it.

Not sure if this what caused it, but i did not have problems for the last 2 hours.

I had quick play around with online adventures today and I still get disconnects (it usually happens during round switch).
I tried a ranked free for all match as well - came 2nd in the first round then it disconnected me at the end of round leaderboard.
I checked my rank later and that disconnect lost me 98 points (I’m now down to rank 10) :frowning:
