The Mercedes SL65 is a true muscle car with as much as 600bhp and torque like a train (depending on the state of tune and model year) and yet despite benefiting from all of the quality and technical advantages synonymous with the Mercedes brand it has never been a particularly good commercial venture for the German manufacturer - the UK’s Top Gear programme loved it but said it was fairly pointless as it had so much power and such harsh road manners that the much lower priced SL500 (with working cabriolet roof - the Black series cars have the roof permanently fixed in place) was a much better all round car. Even so, I love this monster tyre shredder and would definitely have one in my dream collection. I have only ever seen one SL65 racing in a Mod-sports event at UK circuit Oulton Park about four years ago - it made a thunderous sound and was a real sight to behold - low and wide, aggressive stance and massive tyres, finitely tucked under those extended wheel arches - it just looked awesome. Anyway, the beauty of Forza is that we can all be brilliant racing drivers and millionaire car collectors so here is my AKKA sponsored SL65 “Black Series” in all it’s rubber ripping and snarling glory… thanks for looking.
