The Alfa Romeo 4C launched in 2013 finally heralded the return of this iconic Italian marque to mainstream high performance sports cars - of course the 8C was first but its six figure price tag kept it strictly within the reach of footballers and captains of industry - the 4C however, is much more attainable and is pitched alongside the Porsche Cayman and the Jaguar F Type. On the road the 4C presents a squat and surprisingly wide profile and its mid engine, rear drive chassis and incredibly light weight of under 860kgs (in European road spec.) ensures super dynamic handling. The 240 metric horsepower squeezed from the 1750cc direct injection , turbocharged four cylinder power plant provides a more than adequate 4.2 seconds to 60mph sprint and over 160mph flat out. My livery this week is a very close copy of an Italian flag themed Alitalia (Italy’s National Airline) layout - the main difference between my version and the original is just the Forza Championship side logos. Alitalia’s long association with motor sport can be traced all the way back to the 1970’s - and illustrious cars such as the Lancia Stratos, the Lancia Delta Integrale and the Fiat Abarth 131 Mirafiori have all worn the Alitalia livery on their way to Championship wins in International Rallying and Group 5 Circuit racing. The Alitalia livery is popular and often copied - done well it looks good so I have really focussed on getting everything right in terms of exact scale and colour - I hope you like this famous but simple colour scheme - thanks for looking.
