I’m ecstatic about it coming to PC. I knew Apex was going to be the start. The only reasons I got an Xbox 360 and an Xbox One, is because my best friend had one, and Forza. When I first got my 360, my computer was by no means a gaming PC, it ran early 2000s games easy but that’s about it. But by the time I got an Xbox One (shortly after Horizon 2 came into the picture) I built a hefty gaming PC (the only downside is the GTX 960, which I’m replacing with a 1070 soon), and I was sad that I couldn’t play my favorite racing franchise on it. Then Apex became a thing and it made me so happy. And then, Horizon 3 was announced. The only thing that will make this perfect is if I can use my G27 with the game, and not have to upgrade to Logitech’s new wheel, which I might do regardless to play Horizon 2 and F6 with, but that’s not unless Horizon 3 requires it on PC.
BUT. I’m happy, it brings more players into the picture. I know a couple people who love Forza, but can’t play 5, H2, and 6 because they don’t want to buy an Xbox One (they just have their PC and 360). And the cross play between PC and Xbone is amazing. I’m very excited for the future of Forza and Xbox/PC gaming!
I dont understand why people are so upset about the games coming to PC. What detriment does it have on you on an individual level?
The only reasons I can think of is selfish reasons. Something along the lines of wanting to limit the amount of players that can enjoy the title.
The only reason anyone would be upset about a game being available on other platforms is to use the exclusivity in some kind of pathetic internet argument that involves calling someone a fanboy.
Forza coming to PC is awesome as it will be easier to convince my friends who don’t have Xbox Ones to jump into Forza with me. I’m also going to use this as an excuse to upgrade my gaming PC some time after release.
I bought both the 360 and XB1 to play Forza and it is true, I would have just stuck with PC if that is where it would have been - the point here though is that I wanted to experience Forza - I didn’t care about the platform it was on.
So if you’re here because you’re into what Forza represents, why should you care what platform it is on and why should you want to exclude people from experiencing it?
Hmm, there is a bit of an argument against Unicorns here too … for a different thread of course …
Too bad. I’m not happy seeing all my favorite PC series get (badly) ported from the Xbox after going multi-platform, but you don’t see me complaining about it… too much. And that’s something I’ve had to deal with since the Xbox first launched in 2001. So suck it up., worst you have to deal with is the thought of people smarter than you playing the game for free, something that, let’s be fair, doesn’t impact your experience in the slightest. I on the other hand have to worry about whether or not the game will even play decently on my system, and have to face the fact that if it doesn’t, I will have wasted 60 - 80 Euros that I’ll never get back.
Just for the record, fewer people would pirate games if said games came with demos, trials or at the very least the possibility of a refund. Microsoft games come with neither AFAIK.
If that’s their intent they will fail miserably.
Valve is rightfully strong and respected by PC gamers. I trust Valve much more than I could ever trust Microsoft.
Steam deserves its reputation as the go-to place for PC gaming.
No idea how you could hate on such a company but to each his own I suppose.
As a company they’re also very petty and immature in some ways, especially how they reacted to things like the Windows 8 store calling it the downfall of PC gaming and other silly things usually reserved for the YouTube comments section.
They’ve done good things for the gaming community but get a lot more credit than they deserve, and they certainly aren’t invincible.
Hm, I get your point, but recently I dont see much difference between PC and consoles in that regard, both get bad releases sometimes, both are fine for the most part. With Horizon I have little worry, its basicly the same engine like Apex, and smart people working on it.
It also takes place in a huge open world. Which wouldn’t be a problem for most games, but in most games you don’t blaze through that open world at 200 M/h…
No doubt Horizon is more demanding than Motorsport, after all thats why it runs on 30fps on xbox. But were drifting a bit off-topic here …
The PC version is supposed to support 60fps OR 4k (on a suitable system of course), I was just saying that I am happy about that.
Actually, I wouldn`t have bought Horizon 3 for X1, I had decided to quit on the series unless it becomes playable at 60fps, so the move to PC at least sold one extra copy ;).
I don’t care what user you are, but it’s clear to me you just bought a console for one single exclusive and now you’re mad it makes it’s way to PC. I feel your pain, mate, yet your point is extremely selfish.
I for one happy af since Horizon was the only game capable of giving me the same experience as TDU did long ago. And i never had an xbox console and would never get one. And there are many more PC only players such as me who are happy about FH3.
P.S. Wanna thank Microsoft, Turn10, Playground Games and whoever’s involved for making Forza Horizon true on PC.
P.P.S. I’m a bit surprised these forums weren’t full of threads like this one and people like this guy right after announce. Seems like Forza community here is much more mature than i expected. Keep it up, guys, love ya all.
I for one bought both 360 and Xbox One primarily for Forza (can hardly claim Id have bought the original one for it...) and I dont share your feelings at all.
In case of Xbox One I already got two Motorsport titles and one Horizon out of it, plus other games. I didn`t enjoy them as much as the previous ones, but thats my own thing.
Now I am looking forward to the next Horizon, why would I feel bad about it as long as I can play it on the system of my choice?
my concern is i am talking about Forza Specifically
if you told me that all xbox’s (EXCLUSIVE) Titles Will be on Windows 10 i wont be sad or mad of that
but Specifically Forza is another case for me , let me be more explicit
if there is nothing called Forza , what will make me or people like me buy an xbox ?! Nothing , for me and for most who bought xbox the reason is (Forza)
and nothing else not even another single game push me to think in buy xbox except forza
why? because Forza for xbox is the Winner Horse
pc users think i am selfish and wont let them happy with forza being on windows 10 , thats totally wrong
my opinion will not make any difference at the end pc user’s will enjoy the game and i wont be sad of that
but imagine you walk up tomorrow and found Gran Turismo series on pc ? if i was a play station player i will be mad on sony
my concern on microsoft not because i hate to see other players happy but because i used to when say Xbox thats mean Forza Directly
No need to be sad then, because pretty much all Xbox exclusives are going to Windows 10 indeed.
Gears of War, Recore, both Forza franchises, Halo Wars. Quantum Break already is, and Rise of the Tomb Raider (if that counts).
The only big franchise not announced yet is the Halo main series, but it`s not announced for any platform right now.
As for what will make people buy a Xbox … there are enough people who simply dont play on PC. Other than that, Microsoft doesnt care much on which of their own systems you buy their games. They basicly treat Win10/PC like a customized Xbox now.
They connect both and call it a happy family, so why should we go against that?
Tbh. I could probably share your feelings if Forza would suddenly go Sony, because that would be “losing” to the “enemy”.
But PC is really not the enemy, it`s just another Microsoft system.
To answer your question directly, MS is trying hard at promoting Windows 10 which launched horribly imo.
Another thing is that considering xbox one architecture and the fact that there were powerful PCs faking Xbox One during one of the first presentation, i would asume, that it’s really easy to port Xbox One game to PC. And if it’s easy to port, then why not get some additional profit from PC sales?
Seems completely logical to me. That’s why.
It looks more like you’re sad that your elitist feeling of owning some kind of exclusive is gone, and now you’re telling us here about it.
