The Ford GT is a fantasy car by almost anyone’s standards so if Hollywood tough guy Vin Diesel decided to tackle the infamous Gumball 3000 (an awesome “fun rally” where the cars entered are always wrapped and sometimes painted(!!*!) in crazy, garish colours, stickers, camouflage and even fluorescent graphics. Mainly geared towards the rich and often famous the event takes place on public roads and usually starts in Europe and finishes 3000 miles later - sometimes in the USA - Known for an entry list that comprises every incredible super, hyper and mega-bucks car known to man - the rally also runs the gauntlet against the traffic police in just about every place its visits - not an event for the faint of heart or shallow of pocket!!) Anyway, I reckon the GT would be as good a car as any to mix it with the Ferraris, McLarens, Porsches and Zondas - particularly if liveried up in the branding of one of Mr Diesel’s most well known and action packed movies - Triple X. This particular XXX logo is completely my own work so I have taken the liberty of using it on another car in Forza 6 but that was a retro muscle car so hopefully you guys will still like my idea. If required I will make this livery available for the “Horizon Skills bonus” Ford GT racer if there is enough demand. For anyone interested in the details - the Gumball 3000 logo used below is an accurate copy of the real thing that I spent tons of time getting right and will shortly be available in my layers and designs for others folks to use in the game. The Bentley GT3 is, in my mind, a British muscle car, big and not really a lightweight (certainly not in road trim) with a huge engine and tons of cylinders and “cubes” - anyone that has heard a GT3 at full bore will tell you that it “thunders” around the track with an almost turbine sounding roar… cool - I love it and although for some odd reason green cars are often regarded as unlucky in British society - the famous British Racing Green has adorned a great many victorious race cars over the many years since motorsport was established in the early 1900’s. It all started in the days of the Gordon Bennett Cup around 1902, Count Eliot Zborowski, father of inter-war racing legend Louis Zborowski, suggested that each national entrant be allotted a different colour - it seemed common sense to abstract a colour from each country’s flag but because the red, white and blue of the Union Jack had already been picked from their own flags by Italy, Germany and France respectively - the Brits decided to go with green (there is a bigger story to it and proper reasons for the green but I don’t have enough space here just now) - It wasn’t really until the 1920’s when Bentley and Sunbeam started to really establish the colour with it’s winning association but establish it they did and the BRG remains to this day the official FIA colour of the British National Team. Anyway, my entries into the livery competition this week both utilise logos that I have previously embodied in other albeit different designs - my BRG Bentley has the Mondial Chronometer as the main theme - I know some of you will have seen this before on another design I did but seeing as the artwork logo is my own original work (there is no real Mondial Chronometer Company) I hope, as with my Gumball Ford GT you will still like my efforts. To be honest I have just been a little dry on totally new ideas so I thought maybe you might enjoy a variation on one of my previous themes. Hopefully so. Thank you again for your interest.
