Forza Horizon 2 - Bucket List #5 Relive Classic Racing in a Ford GT40

For the Forza experts out there - does anyone have any good tips to beat the 2:15 time with the Ford GT40?
Been finishing always a few seconds short; I suspect that the course is incorrectly marked “easy” as it has some wicked S-turns as well as traffic and the regular controller with the latest firmware version 1.1.2228.0 appears to be way too sensitive or perhaps the key is mastering drafting (and rewinding)…
Cheers

This is the one with the roundabout halfway through, right? I’d say try not to slow down too much there, I think I went around the right side of it and only slightly clipped the grass. I did only manage 177mph though, hope that helps!

Why even slow down? Just jump the roundabout going flat out. The car should land fine if there’s not a traffic car on the other side. One of the easier bucket list challenges in my opinion.

This. There are a couple of wide corners where you have to be careful. But the roundabout - just fly over it.
I wish I had more specific advice… but I also didn’t find this challenge too hard. Well, depending on how you tackle it. Turn all assists off and it can be… a challenge. If you have stability and traction off, then your driving needs to be a lot more careful. But with assists on… it’s pedal to the metal except for two-three of those wide, long, turns.

Took me only once to beat it. It’s not really that hard. Just go flat out and brake a little early for the corners.

This is exactly what I did, beat it with ~7-8 seconds left. I only got the game Saturday night so I haven’t done many BL challenges, but the only one I failed so far was the McLaren F1 speed trap, because I hit a tree right at the end. Not looking forward to the Bowler or S4 though…

I did this in one go but I don’t remember it too much. With the round-a-bout go straight through the middle and jump it or go very close to the inside perhaps clipping the grass. Also, don’t forget, a lot of times this game will show you a GPS route that sticks to the roads and may not even be the best route. Once I get home and am able to play I can look at the challenge again, but I think you’ll have it figured out by then.

I found the secret to doing it in the time was jumping the round-a-bout and just ease off the gas a bit on the big sweeping turns so you don’t run off or slide out.

Many thanks for all your great input - the tips helped. Found out why it was so challenging: with the Game Difficulty set to Easy, the car was automatically slowing down (1st gear 66km/hr) at the roundabout; when the Game Difficulty was switched to Medium it flew through the roundabout over 177km/hr…

This one wasn’t too bad at all, the Bowler one however, I have yet to beat that one…

The Bowler one was a pain. I recommend you start by going hard right and cutting through those trees. Spend little to no time on the roads. Also on the last bit cut straight across that field and cross the road at a diagonal before turning onto it, make sure you are going flat out by the time you hit the festival!

I managed to beat it by doing the same, hard right to cut through the trees and then I pretty much went as the crow flies all the way to the objective, only joining the road for the last straight section. I beat it by a good few seconds doing it this way, just got to avoid the trees and hay bails

I’ll give this a go!

Bookmarking so I can find this again when I try!

The bowler one sucked. I tried it probably 30 times before looking it up on youtube. Didnt realize you could go left of the lake instead of being forced right on the road

For the Bowler you have to cut the trees.
For the classic Ford GT, dont stop and use shortcuts

The Lotus Elise average speed was tough for me. I had to replay 10 times to beat the average speed of 105 kmph

Bowler was easy. Just peg it through the trees rewinding if you hit one. The lancia challenge? That has had me screaming. I keep running out of time about 10 meters from the line…

The Delta S4 one?

Did it last night, took me a time or two. For that one when you make the left out of the coliseum ruins then don’t follow the route exactly, go a bit right of it through the trees and don’t join the road until aroubd or after the underpass.

What’s funny is I beat the Lancia one doing to exact opposite of you. I tired to cut and never made it, when I followed the path exactly I beat it first try. Of course the Bowler is easy if you use rewind!

How was the Venom GT on the second bucket list for you guys? That one took me a few tries…

The venom one is only tough because you have so little time and must be flat out the some time. It took me two tries because I smoked the tires and lost precious time on my first try. Be easy on the gas, don’t burn out, then fly at full speed and you should barely make it.

The bowler one was pretty easy and I think it’s unjustly labeled hard. The Trick is to not follow the gps. The gps gives you a terrible route that should not be followed. If you start and cut right (direction) right at the start so that you ate looking right at the festival you will do fine. Just head to the festival in a straight line and don’t forget the festival is fenced off so near the end hang a bit left. Let if the gas and shift down a bit near the end to get into the road, don’t go sliding sideways past the road and into the fenced off area on the other side.

For the delta S4 I’ve heard two methods. One is to head out and go hard left towards the indicated path and avoid lots of the forest paths.then go down the road fast. Method two, which I used, is to go or if the ruins and hang right. Go through the woods, across the road and through the other woods then under the tunnel and into the festival with plenty of time to spare.
