Forza Garage - Week Five

I originally thought I’d read that, too, but the fact that last week’s reveal included all the Fords that are going to be in FM6 suggests that may not be the case: the Coyote Indy car and the Falcon V8 Supercar weren’t on that list, and both cars were in FM5.

Re: the reveals. LOVE seeing the Touring cars. Yes, we’re missing a few notables like the 1/3 Series and Chevy Cruze (or is it still called Lacetti over there?), but those that we are getting look pretty sweet; the Honda especially. Just wondering why they didn’t include a picture of it; guess I’ll just have to do it m’self:

What I’m really curious about, however, is that WTCC/ETCC cars are so close to stock that I’ve built numerous “Touring” cars from in-game upgrades; curious to see how they’ll stack up with the actual Touring cars, and vice versa.

Returning cars: LOVE seeing that the E34 M5 and 155 are back. Yesohyesohyes. The rest is a little “meh” in that I expected to see most of them. Having said that, every time another off-road vehicle is revealed, I get evermore intrigued as to what, exactly, they’re planning on doing with these.

How many cars are left to reveal?

From a rough count, I’d say around 130-150 or so cars are left, and four tracks.

Nowhere to my knowledge was it said that last weeks Fords are all we are getting. To me the door is open for more Fords to be available at launch.

They said it in the last Week In Review. It’s all the remaining Fords that we’ll get for release. I’m a bit surprised with the partnership, addition of Daytona (and to a lesser extent the Glen), and the hinting around about the LeMans version of the GT.

I feel like it could have been a miscommunication that led to that being published in the Week In Review article, as the actual Forza Garage article doesn’t state to any effect that those are all of the Fords we’ll be seeing at launch.

The line used in Forza Garage: “This week, we also introduce a bevy of Fords to the lineup you will have the chance to experience on Sept. 15.”

It could be, but it was pretty unambiguous in WIR:

While we’ve previously announced some Ford models in prior weeks (including, most obviously, the Ford GT that graces the Forza 6 cover), this week we decided to group together all the remaining Ford cars that will launch on September 15 (or September 10, if you’re an Ultimate Edition owner.

I remember reading that, too, but they have since changed the language, in the Forza Garage week 4 post, at least:

“This week, we also introduce a bevy of Fords to the lineup that you will have the chance to experience on September 15.”

So it’s a “bevy of Fords,” now. Not “The remaining Ford cars.”

The one thing I’m holding out for is the possibility somebody had a brainfreeze and thought Ford only meant the American and European models, and got mixed up into forgetting all about Australian Fords. Given the two Falcons that were in FM5 (but not FH2), and presumably up to current-gen standards, it’s the only explanation that makes any sense. (Which I admit is not much sense.) Aside from those, the only other one missing is the Foyt Indy car, and maybe that’s been rebranded as a Coyote?

I’m fairly certain we will still see the V8SC Falcon in the game. Xbox having a partnership with DJR Team Penske should help out. We just need to wait for a reveal that has the V8SC stuff in it. Would be cool to see another circuit from Australia like Surfer’s Paradise.

Love the new BTCC and the WTCC cars. If someone wants to enlighten me on what the difference is between the two, please feel free to do so

Taking that into account, I think it’s safe to say the V8 Supercars (sadly) and the NASCARs are going to be DLC cars.

Yeah I was going to add that maybe a couple of cars don’t make it into FM6, but I’m pretty sure there’ll be less than 10 cars from FH2s and FM5s car list that don’t make it into FM6. I’m surprised we’re getting these off-roaders though, but it’s more and I like more.

And to the other member, I wasn’t hating on the Audi RS6, it was overlooked in FM4 by most people, but it had a place in my garage. The S14, I really don’t know, ask some members on here, I was just using it as an example as all I ever see is “no S14?”, plz t10 add the s14", it’s just the first ‘demanded’ car that entered my head.

BTCC and WTCC cars, and only a week after the reveal of Lime Rock? Please Turn 10, my hype can only get so high before it starts to reach dangerous levels.

WTCC, BTCC - YES T10, thats the way to go! Nascar would complete the wishlist for a lot People… Don’t forget to think about Hyundai I30.

Nice to see some more touring cars. I was starting to worry the Volvos would be all by themselves. It’s just ashame the same people are going to complain yet again about the double Hondas and triple Toyotas. It really depends on if you count each car model or each livery to determine the total number of cars. We’re lucky that Forza isn’t like some racing games that only allow you to have one of each car.

Great to see the BTCC cars but I’m guessing whoever did the write up has never seen a BTCC race.

There’s a whole list of inaccuracies in both write ups but let’s just go with.

“A mostly trouble-free 2014 season saw the #80 to nine point finishes out of twelve races run, including two top-ten placings”

There’s 30 races in a BTCC season. Tom scored points in 20 of them with 13 top 10s.

“Notable Jalopnik contributor Robb Holland was the first American driver to ever compete in a full season of the British Touring Car Championship.”

Or will be if he ever does because he missed 2 rounds in 2014.

“Holland’s goals for the season were humble given each race of the season would be the first time he had seen each track.”

Perfectly true if you ignore the ones he’d driven before.

As soon as i saw Rob Hollands Audi my eyeballs started to roll involuntarily. Despite a great effort Rob had a very indifferent season in the BTCC. Rotek pulled out after a single season and the car was sold on to AmD. It has just returned to the series driven by Nic Hamilton, Lewis Hamilton’s younger brother. The livery is totally different.

If i recall the latest news correctly Rob Holland is back in the series for three rounds (9 races) in an Avensis. On a self promoting note I already have the new livery on the audi S3 in FM5 and will carry it over to FM6. It will be a simple job to re tweak it for the aero’d up A3.

Yeah, isn’t he in the Handy motorsport car because simon’s taken too many budget hits? That car is actually run by Speedworks as I recall, as opposed to our 3rd Avensis in this list which was built by them but they don’t run it anymore.

The Falcon V8 may be DLC (could be they didn’t finish modelling the new FGX in time for release), but I’d assume the latest Holden (Already in FM5), the Merc and Volvo (seen in menu photos) and possibly the Nissan will all be in the game at launch.

Then again, you know what they say about assuming…

When you assume, you make an A S S out of U and M E.
