Forza 6 vs. Forza 4 - who still plays Forza 4?

I loved Forza 4 but haven’t plaid it in a couple years. Used to always do a private lobby with a friend but he deactivated his Live account. Will definitely revisit when it’s backwards compatible.

i love 4! i’d easily be over level 200 if my save wouldn’t have corrupted 3 times. I would lose my mind if they remastered it and included everything in a xbox one version… but i know that won’t happen

I posted about a week ago How bad forza 6 online lobbies are compared to forza 4. I’m the same as the poster I only got an xbox one with forza 6 because forza 4 lobbies are empty. I asked who wud be joining me on forza 4 and the response was no 1 wud bother with it as the features we want may not even b included in the backward version. But reading the post fills me with hope that forza 4 will get a fresh breath of life.

The thought of going back to F4 hasn’t even crossed my find. F6 is a technical marvel and the best Forza to date. Though I might revisit Fm4 at some point, just for the sake of reliving fond, old memories.

I played FM4 for days, also having friends around, it was always the first pick for Splitscreen races.
I completely agree to the needs of Maple Valley, Fujimi Kaido and Mugello in FM6.

but there are a few features, that are really cool in FM6 compared to FM4:
-prizes for splitscreen racing
-no car costing more than 2.5m
-nice classic cars

What completely lacked in my opinion so far is for example the details in Forzavista. Being able to open the bonnet in FM4 and look at the engine compartment was simply amazing.
FM6s Forzavista is no match to FM4s Autovista so far.

What would also be nice, if FM6 would feature more cheap cars, that are just meant to be fooled around with, not just all the top of the range models.
(And the last DLC was completely crap, apart from the Datsun 2000 and the Holden Torana. who wants a Prowler for goodness sake?)

I still play 4, because…

I won’t expect all the features to make to xbox 1. It seems like MS and turn10 have new policies that might cut the certain features like seachable custom lobbys and gifting.

Never played Forza 4 but this is how Forza 6 should sound!

When FM4 makes it to the XBox One I fully expect features such as Auction House, Storefront, Club Garage and gifting to be omitted. They all seem to fall outside Microsofts current philosophy. As such the fun of of FM4 will be quite hobbled. On the other hand its excellent career mode and car drivability still makes FM6 look like a half baked mess it is.

There is no reason why Fujimi Kaido, Maple Valley et al could not be in FM6. They are, after all fictional circuits. No laser scanning required. The FM6 UI is poor, unwieldy and slow. File curation is shamefully poor. No, thats an understatement, its a disaster. Turn 10 allowed themselves to be hypnotised by the bling bling look of the game. It is stunning visually. However this is at the expense of everything else. I am at the point where I would happily take a step back in visuals for a game that operated with cohesion and comkon sense.

Turn 10 are steadily diluting that which made Forza so great. Gameplay. With kiddy boosts for, ahem, ‘fun’ and allowing arcade style tuning to dominate the game big spenders like me are on the brink of leaving. Personally if FM4 ran graphics like FM6 I would be in heaven. Sadly we have FM6 with Sonic All Stars Racing gameplay. Fat wallets all round Turn 10!

FM4. Bring it on.

This is my biggest problem with 5 and 6. Lack of tracks. I’m already bored of 6. The new tracks in 6 are okay but they lack the fun and diversity of FM4 tracks like Fujimi Kaido.

They should really bring back some of the classic tracks from 4.

As much as I enjoy Forza Horizon it almost seems that they are spending too much time on the Horizon series verses making FM6 everything that it should be.

I played Forza 4 so much, that I like having new tracks. Nothing wrong with the old tracks, just something different. Overall I like Forza 6 more. Playing career is more fun to complete the way it’s set up now. It’s faster to tune a car jumping between Test Track, Tune and Upgrade. And I really like that racing leaderboards is now part of the game. You get credits, add up milage, and everything.

It will be interesting to see what FM4 is like on Xbox One Thursday (4 more days!). I’m thinking the visuals will be close to the same, but the wait times between screens should be faster.

One adavntage that 4 has over 6 for sure is no “Mods” and free spins. These don’t belong.

If Forza 6 had Fujimi Kaido, a career similar to Forza 4s, the ability to select what cars the drivatars drive and something like the storefronts/auction house then I would think this is the best Forza ever.

Im not going to go back to 4, (I need the updated car list/weather/graphics and Forzavista) but as a release 4 was better.

Forza 4 had Camino Vejo, Maple valley and triple screen support = win.
Bring those 2 track to forza 6 and triple screen support and we will have the best racing game ever made

The only reason I still go back to 4 is because of the unicorn cars. The spirit R, mines r32/r34 (those turbo noises), s204…why those cars didn’t replace the stockers baffles me.

the actual driving/racing itself, meaning the physics/realism, are far superior in forza 6.
but theres no car soccer in forza 6, and forza car soccer is the most fun you could ever have with cars in a video game, so for that reason and that reason alone i still play forza 4 regularly.
for those of you who have never tried it you are really missing out.
and im talking about the human created lobbies, the hopper version is boring cause its b-class only.
