Forza 5 Steering Problem

Hello Guys,

I really need some quick help.
So, I saved enough money for the Lotus F1 Car and finally bought it. Now to my problem:
When I started to race with it, the steering of the car feels somehow strange. First of all I have default setup and I have no aids on, but the racing line and ABS.

Back to the steering problem: It feels like the car is not steering completely to the right or the left. What I mean is the Racing Wheel on the car ingame, it not completely turning around in corners
as if there is some kind of steering aid, which controls automatically how much you steer to the left or right.
Especially in Catalunya, this is annoying!! I always have to brake much more in some corners, because its not steering enough, and this ruins of course my lap time.
But in hard corners, its not a problem, because the game thinks I would have to steer all around, but in fast corners, the steering angle is not enough. :frowning:

I never noticed this on other cars, but it can be because of the fact that this cars aren’t that fast and I won’t have to change the direction that dramatically (well maybe…).

I hope you guys can help!! Thank You very much for taking your time

Many greetings,

Try simulation steering in the assists screen.

I already did. Didn’t make any difference :frowning:

It may just be the car bud. I know what you mean because I have watched the steering angle and it is always speed dependent. Also, i noticed if you get into a slide it reacts quicker than normal. I run no assists and sim steering. But I tested both Normal and Sim steering and they both do this. Normal just dampens the physics to make driving aggressively and correcting much easier. Just try to use the whole track with cars like that which have a wide turning radius.

Also, if you haven’t come across this, setting your deadzones on the controller to 0/100 for pretty much everything can really help. That made a huge difference for me and some others I have spoken to.

That bugs me too. The muscle cars and top end monsters have a tough time in tight corners. I sometimes tap the brake while turning to kick the rear out a bit. Hardly elegant, but helps.
