Formula 1 Predictions Thread

" Aston Martin team principal Adrian Newey says vibrations from their Honda engine are risking permanent nerve damage for their drivers within 25 laps of running."

From BBC. Fibrations thru chassis to the steering to drivers fingers.

Sad

Some photos I took today at Albert Park, beautiful weather forecasted for the whole weekend.

It just keeps getting worse and worse for Aston. I really can’t see a way out of this for them.

Rumour online: RBPT and MercHPP also have issues with vibration.

Ferrari or Haas or Audi to win!

Caught FP1, these cars look tricky so it’s going to be interesting to see wheel to wheel action. I have my reserves about the complexities of the PU’s for these regs. Also the cars don’t sound different from 2014-2025 to me at all. There’s only so much you can do with a V6 engine with similar bandwidth’s.

Audi looks good, Lindblad looks good. Hopefully they don’t disappoint when the time comes.

Stayed up for fp1, well tried to, started at 130am, I was done by 2am.

AMR/HRC only have 2 batteries available - the ones in the cars.

From bits online, Merc look to have an advantage.

Only FP!

Good to be back tho

Aus 2026

Quali - well, that was…expected.

sighs Could be a long season ahead to watch

I have a few bits lined up to watch to keep me going till lights out and away we go!

Unless my lights go out and I don’t wake…

Beer will keep

Oh oscar :exploding_head:

So! Umm, it was fine?

It looked like it was going to be pretty decent after the start and opening dozen laps or so but Ferrari just have an innate ability to screw up.

Should have pitted at least 1 under the first vsc

Just frustrating.

Well done GR and Kimi tho, can’t fault them.

Bit smug to see macca off the pace, if only for ZB…

Roll on china

Edit:
Well done to both Audi and caddy.

Attrition was low enough given the huge change in regs etc.

AMR surprised me with the laps they did. Every day is a school day

I saw Oscar crash and then I fell asleep.

The cars are power starved and that needs to be worked out, I’d prefer reworked completely by switching to efficient ICE only engines since that is where the happy medium is.

The big question is: Linblad or Antonelli? Can’t wait to see both in their primes once they get the strength and stamina to put on a show all season.

Ferrari is going to Ferrari it feels like.

Bahrain and Saudi are expected to be cancelled. Official announcement due soon.

edit: can’t find legit source to confirm the above

Russell takes pole for Sprint Quali, so much for Mercedes not being as good at this track.

Not quite as dominant as the Aus GP but with only 1 practice session it’s a big gap to 3rd.

Can see the GP quali being wider

China!

And a sprint weekend at that.

The GP race was good I thought. Big props to Sharl and LH for the entertainment. Prob not in the team interest tho but boy was it really good to watch.

Kimi flawless out front. Well done.

RBR have teething issues. After the promise in testing they’ve gone backwards.

And yes, I’m am smiling at the double DNS for macca. :joy:

What’s with the McLaren hate?

Ah it’s just I can’t take to ZB. Reminds me of Kevin James.

I see. I don’t mind, Zack. But I’m American, so maybe I’m biased. There are a lot more people who work at F1 off-track that annoy me significantly more.

I don’t know when it all started, but it’s definitely a circus out there.
