Ive seen some complaining about a delay in shifts.
Something to the effect that when going from one gear to the next it shows something like this,
1st gear PAUSE Neutral Pause 2nd gear and so on.
I too was getting annoyed with this delay in shifts.
Then I thought what if the devs actually made it so that upgrading the clutch, flywheel and drive shaft actually mattered in game if you are using manual with clutch. Previous games it was wasted PI since when using manual with clutch didnt matter.
Well, now it does. I fully upgraded those parts stated above and now the gear changes are much faster with no delay. So now those parts are actually needed.
Anyways thought I’d post on this since Ive seen a few posts about it but no one mentioning this. so the delayed shifts on non upgraded cars is an intended feature and not a bug or poor implementation of the wheel.
Mine still grinds with full upgrades. Its because the deadzone setting doesnt work. I run an outside deadzone of 75 to get rid of the grind in FH3 and FM7 but that setting doesnt do anything because its bugged. This was also an issue on FM5 and FM6 at launch and took them a few weeks to patch it.
This post wasnt in reference to the gear grind. Only way I found to stop that is to drive in hood cam. Any of the inside cams and you get the gear grind and damage to tranny. Hood cam doesnt cause tranny damage as far as I have seen.
What Im talking is slow gear changes as some have said is an issue.
Take a new car stock and hold the clutch and shift through the gears, doesnt matter how fast you go you will see the gear indicator always shift the same speed.
Now take that same car and fully upgrade the tranny, clutch, flywheel, and driveshaft. and do the same as above, you will see the gear indicator change much faster than stock.
Thats what I was meaning with this post. Some others have posted about it and think its a bug or wheel issue.
