Yeah tracks with DLC is a bad idea. 5 only had the extra free tracks and no expansions, and that was fine. Especially as Porsche and NASCAR are in upfront this time, maybe that would be the way to go again!
Complaining? Mmm…well I think everyones entitled to an opinion. And for the record I think the game looks amazing, I will buy it and with all the added weather effects and day and night cycles on EVERY track (or I hope so) Im sure ill enjoy it.
But lets be real here…if you buy a NEW game you should expect new content to reflect the price. If you want to perfect tbe SAME tracks go play Forza 5 or 6…why bother buying all the same tracks in Forza 7?
Im buying the game because I just love the franchise and I want anything new, weather, graphics, and new cars. Just a shame I only count ONE BRAND NEW track??
The downside would be a lost opportunity to generate revenue but hopefully they’ve come to realise that a track that can’t be enjoyed online has limited appeal and there’s really no way of including DLC into track rotation unless everyone has it.
It makes me wonder just how much more they can extract from DLC. With 700 cars at launch an extra few in DLC strikes me as less important than if the game launched with a couple of hundred cars.
Perhaps the future of DLC should be less about core assets like cars and tracks and more about features like enhanced paint modes, improved automatic tuning, logos, race suits and the like. Basically stuff that would still appeal to people but wouldn’t affect the game online.
Just a thought.
Forza Motorsport will become a “Game as a Service” or what ever they will call it. You pay a monthly fee and you have always the newest cars, tracks. They said something like that some time ago.
This track, that track. I really don’t care. I have played every Forza game, there is not one track I would not race over and over. What I want is to be immersed in the game. I want it to feel like I am right there, as live as it can get. I want it to look and play amazing. Give me the graphics and realism. I will take that any day. I have played a lot of racing games, and IMO I think Forza does a pretty good job right now of making it feel pretty real. No it’s not a sim, and I don’t want it to be a full sim. Forza is playable for me, and that’s what I look for in a game, if I can’t play it, then it sucks. By the looks of Forza 7, I think they stepped up to the plate. It looks so awesome. If it’s anything like or better than Apex, I will be loving it.
Why isn’t this topic a sticky? Confirmed tracks and environments are a big deal.
EDIT: The topic has been stickied. Yay!
Esrae I agree with you mostly…it is all about graphics and immersion…and I think its a good thing they keep improving what theyve got. However, there has to be fresh content to keep peoples interest. I am looking forward to a fully polished game this year but if there isnt any free tracks further down the line or lots of new content in the next issue Im gonna be playing lots of project cars in the future!!
I’d trade in Prague and Rio (man those are terrible) for Fujimi Kaido, easily one of the better fantasy tracks T10 made,
Maple Valley is also pretty awesome, glad that this one is back…
Each to their own, I personally think Rio is amazing, especially the National Circuit. The unsettling bumps and narrow walls while still being a fast-flowing circuit just add that fear factor that is lacking in other fantasy tracks like the Bernese Alps. I really hope Rio returns in FM7.
If we’re talking about axing tracks, the Bernese Alps can go away, i’ve always voted to skip or quit lobbies whenever that track comes up :-), but i’m sure there is someone here that actually likes that track, so I wouldn’t wish it away from that person.
I’m really happy Maple Valley is returning, taking the last corner flat out is just so satisfying when you pull it off! This track should look really beautiful in 4k!
Yeah maple valley looks nice. Shame theyre not bringing back New York or that swiss map from F3. I actually loved Rio…colourful, loads going on in the background and it had great views…AND streets!!
Camino Viejo? I would love to see it return
please give me some new york, cali tracks i dont mind these at all. i think it add more fun to the game , if project cars can have 5o give us at least 40 come on we are waiting forza . i dont mind purchasing either
I’m hoping except for the one’s confirmed already (yay Suzuka and Maple Valley) that T10 brings back the Proving Grounds Location from FM2, New York from Forza 2 and 3, Tsukuba, Twin Ring Montegi, Camino Viejo (FM3 and 4), Positano/Amalfi Coast (one of my favorite fictional tracks) and the glorious Fujimi Kaido.
New real tracks I would like: Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Austria (I think it has a real nice flow), Baku F1 Circuit (just a real nice technical track), Monaco F1 Circuit (just legendary, simply a nice challenging track) the Singapore F1 Circuit (also a nice city circuit) and the Australia GP Circuit (forgot the name, but is a really nice course) althought these are all F1 tracks and I don’t believe that it would be that easy to get all these tracks
I’m sure that would be to much locations but I wouldn’t even mind losing Bernese Alps, ViR and Homestead Miami to get at least 2-3 of these tracks
totally agree with losing bernese alps, and adding the ones u mentioned definitely
Wider tracks serve a purpose for newer players / more casual players though. Plus eye candy on laser scanned real world tracks has of course its limitations…
I dont understand why some people say “I want these tracks to leave”
If anything we should be asking only to ADD tracks, not remove them.
I think they are saying that because we know there will be “more than 30 locations”. FM6 had 28 tracks if you include the 2 expansions and it was already confirmed that Suzuka, Dubai and Maple Valley have been added. So if you take “more than 30” to mean 31, then that means the only way to get any other new tracks is to remove an existing track. If it’s 32, then that means we’re only getting 1 other new one unless one is removed. Etc.
Probably everyone would want their least favorite track removed if it means they are getting an unknown new one.
Agreed! Just add more. No need to delete unless they say it will take up too much time, money or some other resource
Indeed. Absolutely the more the merrier. Just give more options for people playing online to not have certain tracks, and everyone should be happy. Removing tracks just means some group will lose their favourites, which is not cool.
Absolutely, they should just add tracks and not remove anything, but if Turn10 say there are only 30 Environments, then if we count the number of tracks from FM6 + DLC, and all of the new tracks for FM7 announced so far, then the number is already over 30.
This means they have either already announced all the new tracks for FM7 (and none are brand new to the franchise other than the fantasy Dubai track), or there have been some tracks cut from FM6.
