I love Forza I’ve been playing forever I can play FM5 on Expert and do well. On FM6 I play with drivatars on New Racer and can’t do better then a 2 most of the time. You always get dusted off the line and you only catch up in the corners. I’m stuck right now on LeMans in the stormy career races. I have bought some mod packs and enabled them. Anyone else struggling? I feel like I could have a Bugatti and get doored by a Pinto. Something seems broken…
On expert i have no trouble beating them, you get the car that races away at the front but always catch it before the end of the race, also never used mods as they used to dirty your lap even if the were not perfomance based.
Yes it is a known problem, although for me at least it has improved since the update. If the unbeatable AI is on your friends list have you tried removing them, finishing the series then re-adding them?
Drivatars are definitely in a dire state if that’s the kind of solutions we have to use to solve it o_O
Ah, I haven’t checked that but I think I will.
If you can beat them on expert on FM5 you should have no problems with FM6. A lot of people have changed the driveatar difficulty up to expert or pro and get good results. Some people turn off the aggression as well. I run with the driveatars set to average and have no problems beating them. Wet courses I have found take a lot of patients to run. You just can’t go flat out like a dry course. It does pay off if you wait for the driveatars to get in a single line then you can pass a bunch on a long sweeper or straight. Providing you got a good run off of the last corner. If you approach the driveatars at a slower speed you can counter some of their moves easier than if you were going full throttle. I actually got through a run of Brands Hatch in the wet last night with only one dent and that was my mistake not the driveatars.
There is still definitely a huge problem here.
In FM5 I was usually faster than 95% of my friends and usually in the top 1% or even occasionally top 0.1% on leaderboards, but admittedly I’ve struggled a bit more in FM6. Maybe it’s where I used a controller in FM5 and wheel in FM6 and just haven’t adequately adjusted but I still run aids off but have to dial the AI down a tad; still towards the higher end but not professional or unbeatable. The cars just seem to get loose on me way easier than I remember in FM5 and I’ve been working on that.
Well, I’ve spent a while running races in free play to focus on trying to get a feel for the game but decided to resume my career progression. I was in a wet series. I kept coming in fourth in the first race on the Bugatti circuit so I figured I’d had enough and just dropped the AI to the lowest setting, still with aids off, to see how it goes. Most of the AI was running 2:09 to 2:15; plenty slower than my 1:52. However, three were running mid 1:40s. I placed fourth again and again restarted the race, eventually barely winning, only winning that last time because they were hung up in traffic for a few laps.
Now, the problem here is partially that we still have Drivatars running 15% faster than the rest of the field, and not because they are out front. These three problem Drivatars started 11th, 12th, and 13th. They’re friend list Drivatars. FM5 also chose my friends to be my main rivals, but they weren’t 15% faster than everyone else. A common misconception is that the super-fast Drivatars start out front and pull away because they’re unobstructed, but these guys started near the back and once they cleared the traffic they posted top-100 leaderboard times.
Therein lies part two of the problem. I checked the leaderboard for the Bugatti circuit wet for PI up to 900. The race limited us to 865. The Drivatars were close but a tad shy. The top three Drivatars were posting mid 1:40s, which would put them in the top 100 on the board, but their PI wasn’t even top of the class and, importantly, this was “new driver” difficulty - the lowest. So, a player who never played a racing game before would have to post a top-100 leaderboard time just to podium and advance.
Then I decided to watch those top Drivatars in the replay. I have to be careful with puddles and on slippery curbs or I spin out. They drove over curbs and through most of the puddles without even lifting off the throttle. If I’m not going straight when hitting a puddle with my foot off the throttle I typically spin out, but they can hit them however they want at full throttle and not even wobble.
I have a theory about this: If you play on expert, pro or unbeatable, the drivatar difficulty is what it says it is. If you play on new racer, at least one drivatar acts like its on unbeatable. When I’m driving a good car for a track, I haven’t lost on expert. The game kept trying to prompt me to bump up the difficulty. Pro is a little harder but all races are winnable. Unbeatable usually has a couple cars that take advantage of you being in traffic. Hard to catch in a short race. I think with this bug, expert is the actual easiest difficulty.
Can someone share a replay of a race he cant beat on new racer difficulty? Or at least give more info which car / tune / track / assists he/she is using.
Agree. I am a top 300 racer and there are some tracks you just need to try and try and try again. Once the lead is out of sight its over. Here is a tip. practice first always.
As far as rain is concerned, check to see if you have the Grip Engineer mod card. It makes a wet track drive just like it was dry, except for the puddles. So you can run away from the AI.
