(FIXED) Private Lobby Meetups (Track day sessions) Now Working!

I’m trying to set up a private meetups lobby on Xbox one s, with an online friend.

I’ve tried selecting meetups under the menu setup > race setup > choose a track,… but every time I load a track it loads it as a drift race not a meetup.

Is anyone else experiencing this or know how to set up private lobby meetups?

do you mean timed race? you can change it, when in a private lobby with your buddy.
Drift is not default so you must have choosen drift?
When you are at the page where you can choose a track you can see wich type of race condition you have choosen ore want to use(race, timed race, drift, drag etc…) you can change it there before ore after you have choosen a track.

Thanks for your reply… No, there is a specific option when setting up race type titled “meetups”, which I would have thought would be pitching up to the track with friends to test as a private track day, same as the public meetups does… but instead it takes us to a drift race.

Either this option was fixed in the latest update, or I’ve only just figured out how to set it up properly, I’m sure I tried everything before… but anyways it definitely works now!

So if you ever want to set up a private meetup lobby (like a track day event) where you and friends can choose a track and you can leave and re-join the track during the session (which only ends when you change to a different track). So its great for tuning up cars, and set ups without actually having to start a race. Lap times count, and you also earn credits for driving around too. I am so pleased this feature works!

Go to Multiplayer, invite a friend, then start a private lobby. Then go to the race set up menu, by default this is on custom race, so change this and select meetups (its the furthers option right, past circuit race, time trials, drift, etc and you’ll find meetups), then choose a track, but importantly go to the advanced menu and make sure that the race type is set to time, not set to drift.

You will enter the lobby and start race as normal. Once the race has started you can leave and return as often as you like, you will always spawn on the start line (it’s a pity you don’t spawn in the pit lane, but hey, its a great feature anyway. The host can switch to other tracks, or switch to a normal race event at any time, and then setup another meetup again afterwards… this is great if like setting cars up but in the company of your mates on-line.
