Just done the finale!
13:11.525 was my time also in the veneno.
Think I crashed twice tho so could improve but not bad for my first run.
Gotta say it was a great course to drive.
Is it just me being dumb or is there no rival event or leaderboard for this in game??
There is no rival event or LB for the Finale race, due to the fact that there are a few spots along the route where people could cut out fairly big sections of the route (pretty much the same thing with the Gauntlet race on Forza Horizon 1), at least thatās what i saw when I was racing in the Finale race with random players in online freeroam.
How does cutting large sections for a better time make it so there isnāt a leaderboad. There may be no leaderboard but I doubt this is it.
There are Show cases and other events where users can cut large parts of the track and there is a leaderboard. For example, the Ford Raptor Showcase event allows you to cut a good chunk off the end of the race that equates to about 15-20 seconds from following the āroadā.
In the East Trail Run in Montellino there are several places where you can cut large swathes of race between checkpoints and it has a leaderboard.
After the event in any case, you can see what your time was. I donāt remember exactly but a few days ago we were goofing off n S1 Hummers and ran the Finale in the 14 minute range.
Youāre probably right, i may have gone on a slight rant in my post, mainly because there were a few instances where I was in that event with a random group in online freeroam, racing along the highlighted path and without any collision with other players, I would get kicked out of the lobby by the leader afterwards.
Sure is bizarre that the Finale didnāt get a place as a rivals event. =/
Finale in an s1 car i can run under the 14 minute mark. I crashed hard in an x class car and still pulled 13:05. Do i cut? Of course but when i run a 14:40 in an s1 class following the green line thats quick in my opinion. Im not bragging but bring your a game racing with me. xDeaDxCriMinaLx is my gamertag.

11:34.570 in my X class Ferrari 458 S. Using all the shortcuts I know, clear weather, midday, and collision off.
Settings I used:
ABS off, steering normal, traction control off, stability off, driving line off, manual with clutch. Cosmetic wear.
I did mine in 20 minutes. I guess I drive like an old lady, but I won.

S1 Zagato can run sub 14s in the finale.
Same with even S1 Cudas Iāve tuned.
Iām knocking on 11s door in my X Arial Atom. But thats basically an F1 car.
My S2 Ultima GTR and Zagato are knocking on 12s door. This seriously needs an update with the finale on the rivals leaderboards. I really want to chase PPiDriveās and Criminalās tail.
ā¦ but then again I do that live anyway.
My mkII GT40 S1 96% completion with Criminalās mad messy 14+ Cuda time. We both were driving horribly. Keeping to the green line.
All said, the shortcuts save maybe 30 seconds. IF you donāt wreck it.
Iām waiting for this dang prius to make its left turn on that straight in Nice. Some people just have nowhere to go! At least itās giving me a minute to check the forums. Iāll post my time later tonight, when I finishā¦depending on traffic.

The finale has quite a few long stretches between some of the checkpoints. That said, on some you have no choice but to follow the green like and on others you might be able to take a different route but itās not always in your best interest.
For example: between the Golf course and Nice as you head into Nice there is a long gap between checkpoints but the road is walled off on both sides and you have no where to go. Also, heading into Sisteron as you make the left hander out towards the golf course there are a few routes you could take but in reality the green one is probably the best because other routes you come out just behind the checkpoint.
Iāve yet to drive the Finale in anything above S1. In S1 I did it in a Hummer as a joke. During gameplay, I ran it in an A Class Audi RS2 and some other long forgotten car in A Class.

Yeah I donāt think shortcuts should count it out of rivals. If anything that would make it more competitive! You still get the āreturn to courseā warnings and resets ā¦ I think there should be some races with no checkpoints at all - just pure point to points, even let us just mark points on the map, sure you can do it manually, but I think it as a feature would add life to the game with minimal effort - even allowing upload of specific routes for leaderboards!
We did the finale in a group with the Abarth 595, tuned to max out at 122kph. That took around 32 mins :).
Iāve only done the race twice(2 1/2 times if you count the time the game froze about 7 minutes in) and Iāve gotten in the 13s both times. Not sure about the exacts but it was in the 13s. That was in the 79 Camaro and following the line.
I ran under 11:00 minutes in a legit way - no shortcuts used, stock Porsche 918, collisions on, online, no assists, no braking line ; like in real life, to make it quicker.
