FH6 livery design thumbnail in the "Find New Designs" menu

Hi.. just wondering if anyone knows about FH6 Livery Wraps Thumbnail in the “Find New Designs” menu..

Is the new FH6 menu for finding new designs works like in FM8 (that doesn’t show any aftermarket body parts and rims).. or is it just some kind of bug??

I’ve tried what I’ve known since FH3 FH4 and FH5.. that by saving the wrap design files as the last step from livery editor before sharing; will shown all aftermarket body parts.. rims.. (including how it’s setup such slamming the car).. would make the thumbnail shown the suggested aftermarket parts by the creator that fits best for his/her design..

I also tried to swap it the other way around by changing with new rims or wings etc.. but nothing seems to work..

So far as I’ve tried in FH6 after saving.. and all the steps importing them from FH5.. it seems like it doesn’t work like that anymore in FH6, instead it just shown the car in stock without any aftermarket parts.. just like in FM8.. :worried:

I’ve check some other designs made by others, but I didn’t found any that has aftermarket body parts and rims fitted to the car..

Tbh this just made me like losing my appetite.., I hope it just a bug.. but I don’t know.. maybe anyone here know what’s going on with the ones we used to have in the previous Horizon series?? TIA :folded_hands:

From what I saw so far the car thumbnails under “My Designs” and under “Find New Designs” will always show the basic car no matter what visual mods you apply unfortunately.. This is of course quite unfortunate as you obviously want to show a design as it should actually look with all mods like changed bodyparts and wheels.

For better understanding a visual comparison with an unreleased 911 Turbo design.

How it should look and looks in the garage.

How it looks in “My Designs” and “Find New Designs”.

I don’t know why they did it this way? Is this just an oversight issue like with the black rims and windows in FH5?

I hope they fix this and switch to the normal garage thumbnails that show the cars how they actually look. The problem is if they do you’ll have to upload your designs again to show the correct thumbnails which will presumably reset the downloads you already got for that design.

The body kit is not part of the design, that’s why.

It’s been part of the design since FH3.. this is how it looks when checking on my Creative Hub..

I think what you mean is the black windows and headlights.. those was on the very early days on FH5.. but it’s fixable (even in the early days of FH5) by deleting all files in the FH5 livery cache folder except the Manifest.XML file shown (like in the pic below), the game will regenerate new temporary cache files every time it’s launched.. then when all cache files cleared.. it was the time to share the livery design without the game blacking the windows and headlights area..

So I don’t think what’s been shown in FH6 liveries display with all shown in stock views is the same as what happened in FH5 early days.., since FH3 by default it has always to save the livery file from livery editor as the last step before sharing, any other changes after that and then sharing it.. will caused the thumbnail shows it as stock without any aftermarket parts and rims fitted to the car..

And that’s what I’m a bit worry about in FH6.. is this just some early bugs.. or permanent like in FM series?? Because it doesn’t matter in FM23.. no matter which ones was the last step to be saved before sharing.. it’s going to be shown as stock..

C’mon devs.. please fix the thumbnail display on the “Find New Designs” menu.. :folded_hands:

FH6 livery and paint tools are awesome!! Now I can make metallic even two tone custom paints using multilayers vinyl on full carbon base paint..

Compare to the R34 in FH5 below which only can be done with paints only..

How anyone would notice the general details with the current stock livery thumbnail we have in FH6?? :worried:

Please please fix them devs.. thank you in advance.. :folded_hands:

In FH4 and FH5, there was a way to trick the system into including the tuning parts in the livery thumbnail. I guess with the new engine, that trick doesn’t work anymore? That’s kind of a shame, it would be better if they added an officially-support method to achieve that. If you have a general design that looks good on the stock vehicle, the current system is fine. But if you have a design that is designed for say, a drag car, you kind of want to have the thumbnail show with drag car tuning parts to give the full effect. Think of it as a serving suggestion.

Not only FH4 and FH5.. even in FH3 the trick were already there, I still remember how did I found the trick in FH3 therefore I always save the last step from livery editor before sharing my design..

I’m not sure if it was because of the new engine, I know FM2023 uses the same engine but the trick was never available in FM (based from my experience with FM6 and FM2023)

Imo for Horizon series, FH6 compares to its predecessor.. is more caused to the missing links from one to another.. whether it’s 3d polygon models (not just 3d car models).. textures etc.. and there so much issues with the game.. like it suddenly crashing (FHE01).. fps drops.. stuttering.. even with top tier PC built..

So generally it’s like mismanagement in handling their tons of data, I thought error code FHE01 crashing was just because any input output devices attached, because even when I disconnect my FFB steering wheel.. and just use mouse keyboard as at the moment I’m currently focusing in rearranging my FH5 liveries when applying to FH6 car models.. the game would still having the same FHE01 crashing one way or another..

Especially when doing paint jobs at some certain cars and rims like the GTR R34 and rims that have 5 allocation paint areas..

The game never crashed when I’m exploring the map or doing some races, most of the time it happened when doing paint jobs.. some when using photo mode (to get a closer look and see more details), and the game also never crashed when doing livery vinyl editing..

The reasoning why I think this has more to do with mismanagement so many data so many missing links one to another.. because of this example that I found just today in this..

Note; on BMW M3 E30.. when using Sport Front Bumper model, it look just normal in the garage..

But when I went outside to check how my paint jobs looks like.. and then returning to home, suddenly the front bumper went missing..

And that also some times happened when using photo mode when I want to get closer look and see more details outside the garage..

So imo.. it also the same thing on what happened when viewing livery designs models in “Find New Designs” menu.. not that the outcome after using the trick wouldn’t work.. but I think some how it just didn’t get connected.. the links were missing.. because in FH3 4 and 5 when viewing new livery designs in the “Find New Designs” menu.. it is the same like viewing the car model in Car Mastery Menu..

Here are some screenshots from FH5 and FH6 in comparing them to get better understand on this subject..

Car view in FH5 Car Mastery Menu..

Here what it looks when viewing from Creative Hub Menu in FH5..

And this is the livery design file view when viewing from “My Designs” menu in FH5..

And now let’s compare them to FH6..

View from Car Mastery menu in FH6..

View from Creative Hub menu in FH6..

And view when viewing my livery design file in “My Designs” menu in FH6..

So I’d say from creativity perspective alone.. there’s already a big mess how the game managed their data.., from this perspective alone.. imho.. it’s not a surprise why the game suddenly stuttering no matter how good the pc spec is.. or fps dropping.. or suddenly crashed.. because they’re not in harmony working one to another..

So I hope they can fix all of these issues as soon as possible.. because imo this is not fair to all the painters’ works.. and also not fair for people who bought the Premium edition but the game suddenly stuttering.. fps were dropping.. and the crashing everywhere..

Well, I think it looks especially ridiculous when widebody kits are involved,…

Another issue with the thumbnails is that the cars are overlit; so, if they have any kind of shine to them (e.g. metallic or two-tone, etc.), base colors can appear a lot lighter and duller than they would in any game environment.

Just found another error code FHE01 related to the subject, this just happened a moment ago while loading my saved color in Paint Menu..

Please fix these issues devs.. all error code FHE01 happens when I was doing paint jobs, so we can also have the proper thumbnail display on our livery designs like we used to in the previous FH series.. thank you..

My game crashed at least a dozen times when I was taking photos of my cars in garage (for collection journal). I’m not sure but I think it gave out the same error code.
Since then I’ve decided to backup my save file every session so if it ever gets corrupted, I won’t have to start from the very beginning.
