FH6 Auction House

Auction House in Forza Horizon 6

The Auction House is a feature where players can put their own cars up for auction for in-game credits or bid with in-game credits on other players’ cars.

Q: Can I buy DLC cars in the Auction House?

Players who own the DLC for a particular car can buy and sell those DLC cars in the Auction House, but players who don’t own the DLC will get an error message when trying to bid on DLC cars.

Q: Can I sell my Barn Finds, loyalty reward cars, or Treasure Cars in the Auction House?

Barn Finds, loyalty reward cars, and Treasure Cars cannot be sold in the Auction House.

Q: Why did I receive less than the bid price for a car I sold in the Auction House?

Like real life, the Auction House takes a commission on sales, which increases due to price and other player paints and tuning setups applied to the car.

There is about a 15% fee per listing in the Auction House.

Q: How is it that other players can set a higher Buy Out price for the same car I’m selling?

Users who have Legendary status as a painter or tuner have the benefit of higher Auction House ranges.

Q: Why do I keep getting a Bid Failed message?

The Auction House has a limit on the number of transactions within a 24-hour period. Come back the next day and try again. In unusual cases, rebooting your equipment may clear error messages.

Q: Where is the car I won? Where are my credits?

Make sure you complete each auction by selecting it from your Auction House menu, and claiming the car or your credits, so they are added to your garage/profile.

If you believe that you lost credits or cars while trying to claim them, first reboot the game, and check again. If you still cannot access or find your car, then please submit a ticket.

Q: Why is the Auction House grayed out?

You may not have completed enough of the tutorial. Try going through more gameplay and make sure the Festival Playlist unlocks as well.

Barn Finds, loyalty reward cars, and Treasure Cars cannot be sold in the Auction House.

I have to say this kind of restriction does nothing but frustrate.

Yes, scarcity reflects what a Barn Find might be in RL. But I’m not a happier player because of this when I could be a happier player without that restriction.

Thank you for posting this. It is a disappointment they made this choice AGAIN.

They aren’t unicorns if everybody gets one.

Well, they are high fiving themselves that they’ve created ‘barn finds’ that are conceptually akin to real life.

Little thought as to whether that just frustrates the player without any benefit whatsoever to the player.

One of those barn finds, I’ve got a bunch of FH5 liveries for and in FH6 they deserve duplicates to accommodate them. There’s no serious reason I should be prevented from having duplicates of every playable car in this game.

"Barn Finds … **and Treasure Cars cannot be sold in the Auction House."

This is annoying, some of us like building up multiples of cars. This restriction serves no purpose .

What about buying bots…because i 've spend an hour trying to buy a car only to see the dissapearing (sold) after less than a couple of secs…It’s breaking the auction way worse than people selling their barn find…why put a rule like that when the auction is broken (yet again) by people abuses?

BTW investigate this buying bot thing because on some model, it’s more than obvious (Nissan GT black edition FE , for example…)

Update: i tried without buying to refresh quickly (so out and back) and they dissapear in less than a second…

Yeah this has been a problem for a while they need to just prem ban hardware and ip ban people its been out of hand for years

The developers really should take a closer look at the accounts in the Auction House. How is it possible for some players to sell multiple cars there for 20,000,000 credits, even though they could never have legitimately earned that much money?

Yeah this is some B.S. never have i had this much of a problem trying to snipe a car. I have really fast internet and cars pop up sold. This needs to be fixed asap and accounts banned for this.

Sounds like the AH is more of the same. In FH5 I spent a day tracking who was winning auctions when a HTF Pagani came out and noticed 1 person won dozens … so bots are definitely a thing. I still managed to snipe a couple. But sniping is hard regardless, and always has been. Ive sniped 100s of cars over the years, but seeing auctions end in a second has always been a thing.

So incredibly frustrating trying to buy any semi-popular car in the auction house. No way to manually refresh the auction, constant failed bids when I try to place them as soon as I enter the auction, constantly getting sniped with auctions abruptly ending with 1-2 minutes remaining. Not even worth trying.

Absolute rubbish. The bid failed message occurs far too often and has absolutely ‘nothing’ to do with too many transactions in a 24hr period.

Same here.Six of the same FE cars came up at the same time,as soon as i clicked on buyout all 6 were sold instantley.Thats with ethernet connection and wired controller. You cant tell me people are that quick,im in the UK if it makes a difference.

With a game as popular as FH6 people constantly underestimate how many people are actually trying to get some very rare car at the same time, especially in the first weeks after release. It really is strange that quite a few people here write about having spent hours trying to secure a specific car, yet seemingly have not the slightest clue how many other people—at that very same time and with that very same level of effort—are chasing after that exact same vehicle. If 100 people attempt to get a car simultaneously, 99 of them will inevitably walk away empty-handed. This has nothing to do with quickness or bots; it is simply a matter of mathematics. And yes, even if six cars suddenly become available at once, 94 people will still end up empty-handed in the end.

Just to be clear are you using the quick buy approach (Y, down, A on an Xbox controller)? It takes me probably 0.5 seconds to try and buyout a car if it’s a rare one which I’m trying to snipe. I still don’t win all of them (and it’s not a particularly fun process) but you’ve got no chance at all if you are using the “normal” route to bid on a car.

Mste,I’ve played FH3,4 and 5 so if I don’t know how to use the suction house now,I never will. Thanks for the reply though.:+1:

No worries. Always worth checking as it’s surprising how often people who have this issue are using the longer route. Appreciate it’s still painful even doing it “properly” though.

There are definitely bot accounts, but yeah I agree, it’s likely mostly this.

FH6 surpassed FH5’s lifetime peak during the premium edition’s pre-launch release window on Steam. And that’s just one platform. There are an insane number of people playing, and at a certain point the math is so insane that the milliseconds added by distance to the servers are going to be the deciding factor.

I’ve heard that the auction servers are based in the US, but the source I heard it from was just another person on these forums, so don’t take that information as fact.

The thing that’s bothering me about the auction house right now is that they added a feature that shows when a car’s price is above the cost of it’s autoshow version and it’s parts, and people are still buying out stock car stock paint job listings at those prices.

I have never lost an auction to anything but an overpaying buyout. I have never listed anything myself that wasn’t bought out, even when it’s overpriced and available for cheaper in the autoshow.

Honestly not surprised that the auction house is non-functional if this is how people operate.
