Festival Playlist events and rewards Oct. 31 - Nov. 7 (Spring S39)

Not sure why they made that B class when the only three eligible cars for 90’s France start in D (Peugeot 205 R), C (Clio Williams) and S1 (Bugatti EB110).

there have been a couple like that recently, the other week had a championship with one car only - not really a problem of course, just a “grrr” moment!

I went with the Lagonda first and it was a pretty disastrous Trial. Glacial finishing times.
Got destroyed on the first 90 degree turn on Festival Gatecrash.
Pushed so far off the road that I didn’t realize I had already missed a checkpoint by the time I got back on the road.

This Trial really exposed the players that didn’t know the tracks. Players driving straight through 90 degree turns.

Had a bit better run with the '92 Silvia.

How do I triple beep with a single button press please? I don’t think I can press down on the stick 3x in a row.

Are you sure you don’t need a video guide? In a completely separate thread that ends up being merged with this one every single time?

Anyone else can’t get the trading paint skill to work?

it’s a bit fiddly, that one; had beautiful gentle scrapes do nothing and full-on collisions tick the box

I resisted the temptation to find a video for it, we should submit ourselves to the pain of working out the bleedin’ obvious.

It takes a real conundrum to have me looking for videos [HINT for someone who shall remain nameless] that are posted in the right thread [HINT for someone who shall remain nameless].

Can confirm that the stock A800 WP Supra completed all four tasks. I didn’t need to upgrade it at all for the street race task.

(Love that HW championship name. Now that’s gonna be stuck in my head all day.)

Clio Williams is really fast car at B class, if you swap the Honda engine.

My hats off to you all that do the trials with stock cars all the time. My patience lasted two races at Festival Gatecrash. Builds with drag tires followed.

I didnt get the potential out of all of the car options, but i did pretty good with a couple. I got the Mitsubishi GTO to #61 in rivals with a 2:50.204 (Guanajuato Sur). The next best GTO was 2:50.4 … but they used the grass to avoid slowing down on the last right hander that requires some if you stayed on the road, and I stayed on the road. I had em gapped by a lot but the grass cuts a lot of time. I went back and tried the offroad part and was solidly in the 2:49’s … but I let my “stay on the road” time stand.

Its share code: 131 310 148 … Abell 370 “Guanajuato v1.05” … if anyone wants to try it. It might want to change gears when you dont want it to if use drive in automatic, though.

That SVX does look good in B class in the trial events. My stiffest competition in a trial was one of those and looked to be every bit the car the 97 Nissan R33 was that I was driving, and that thing ran low 2:52s in rivals and was knocking on the door of top 100 ( Guanajauto). It did a 2:56 to my 2:54 in the trial race but it looked like it may be stronger. It had me worried for sure.

bear in mind that using a low-PI car forces some vague attempt by the game to match performance; ie, if you had, say, six B-601 cars for the players then the game is going to put out six similar-PI cars

there’s more to it, the game cheats; often the first couple of robots show a performance unrelated to PI

if a player puts in a terrible build for B-700 then the game’ll match it and put the player team at a disadvantage (note I am not suggesting you’d do a terrible build, just talking in general there)

Yeah that sounds about right. Some of my highest scoring lobbies are when Im in an upgraded car and everyone else is in stock. If I get out in front quick, I often break the rubberband with the upgraded AI car, then it falls off and doesnt do much better than the non upgraded AI cars. If the other people keep it clean, Ive seen some shutouts and near shutouts.

I did a bunch of trials this week and saw at least 3 upgraded cars in every trial. What usually happened was Id get out in front and drag 2 AI cars with me … then we got a lot of me in first doing under 3 min on Guanajuato, then 2 AI in 2nd or 3rd under 3:10, then the upgraded human driven cars getting 4th, 5th and 6th. I kinda made life hard and there were a lot of Festival Gatecrash losses because of it.

Okay yeah, the car restriction for the expansion PR stunts was all kinds of stupid. I’m convinced now more than ever that whoever chooses the seasonal events just throws darts at a board and enters in whatever comes up.
