Huh, that Open task for infecting other players wound up being a lot less painful than I expected. I hopped into the second round of a non-team event with Survival scheduled for the third round, and I managed to pick up two infections there. I may have confused the original infected player by actively chasing after them for the first minute. The next event was a team one, with Survival in its second round, and just for good measure I picked up three more infections there. What I found strange with that event is that even though the other team won the first two rounds, it still made us play out the third round, even though that’s not how things work when Playground Games is in the Playlist. Nothing consistent but inconsistentcy.
I may just cheese that Mitsubishi speed trap with some car upgrades. Clearly there’s some trick I don’t remember from last time, because I’m not getting anywhere close to the goal with the stock options, and I don’t have the time today to sit here for an hour figuring it out.
Decided to try another route - bought a Hennessey Camaro Exorcist (2019) from the AH at about 6.5M - NAS car (as in Not At Autoshow in case anybody is unfamiliar with my terminology as opposed to AAS - At Autoshow) and stuck it up for 600K buyout just in case it helped new players with little CR and it went almost immediately.
Daily completed - Job done.
Hopefully it went to a new player that can build their CR up a bit with that.
I think the issue with this challenge is where you claim the car. if you claim on the auction list, it works but if you claim in the my bids section, it doesnt
You could be right - I claimed the car from the AH when I bought it.
It shouldn’t be an issue but we all know how this game has its idiosyncrasies at times…
Phew, just squeaked that speed trap at 130.5 in the '04 Evo VIII. The trick was to run wide on that final sweeping curve and use the hillside as natural banking (after rewinding a ton to clear out all the brush) to help maintain your speed for the final run-up. There’s a tree on the left a bit earlier that’s at a super-inconvenient spot; without that I think it’d be much easier to set up a good line.
In mine, 9 of the 11 non infected players went straight for the infected players. Quite the wreck. I only got one infection there, but had two in the seasonal, so it triggered.
If you’re doing this with stock cars, the Eclipse couldn’t possibly do it, but I upgraded it to B class.
Even though the Evos seem to have the requisite top speed, they would appear to need a much longer run-up to get up to speed, but because of the tight corners at the top of the hill, there’s no advantage.
I did wonder whether there was an alternative approach which might allow a more direct run at the speed trap or using the slopes for a speed boost, but I couldn’t find anything that was likely to work.
[Moments later…] Ah, I now see you managed to hit the target. I suspect I was taking a similar line, but perhaps just a bit too tight.
I would be surprised if any of the Mitsus barring the TA Evo can’t make the speed trap. All tunes aren’t equal so picking or creating the right one matters. I made it with a Starion, GTO and one of the Evos. It requires decent driving but is easier the the VW trailblazer imo.
Heh, yeah, I’m so used to always trying them stock that I sometimes forget you can bring a car up a whole class or two as-needed. In my experience it wasn’t the car’s top speed that mattered so much as its acceleration, as you have to gain the last 20-25 MPH in a fairly short distance right before the trap. I went with the Evo I did because it had the highest listed acceleration value (and I know those values aren’t super-accurate, but they’re all I had to work with).
m experiencing an issue with completing the “Clean Fun” daily challenge in Forza Horizon 5. Despite following all the necessary steps and requirements for the challenge, I am unable to complete it successfully. I have tried multiple attempts, making sure to follow all the rules, such as avoiding collisions and driving cleanly throughout the entire race, but the challenge still does not register as completed.
Could you please assist me with this issue? Any guidance on what might be preventing the completion of the challenge would be greatly appreciated.
