I don’t know…I understand wanting to feature certain cars, but at the same time I don’t think everyone wants to buy a vehicle they’ll only use for the featured career and then sell it for half of what they bought it for. Having a related selection of vehicles at least gives the player a higher likelihood of using a vehicle they like or buying a vehicle of actual interest to the player.
Am I the only one thinking like this?

Idk I bought all cars, and auto drive fomo races, since single player is boring anyway.
I believe this is the first time theyve used this format of requiring a specific car. Personally i dont find it to be that big of a deal as the whole point is to drive these few specific road cars and then drive their race car variants. Thats the theme for this month.

There were earlier some other events requiring one specific car, like Abarth 124 Spider or Aston Martin Valkyrie. I don’t mind it either but I can see how forcing players to buy 2 rather expensive cars every week could be an issue, especially for those who don’t have the VIP with credits boost.

The theme of this tour is “Road to Race”, it makes sense to pick one specific road model and then the race version based on it. It’s a choice, and I think it’s a good choice for the theme.
Though the side effecot is it does make it less likely that you already have the car. Personally I think all cars should be free anyways. Not sure if you can rent cars for career, although renting in this game isn’t ideal.

Good takes. Renting cars for career races would be a good idea, but I wonder if the credit rewards per race would be the same or halved/more than halved as an owned vehicle.
I dont mean this in a bad way but, you have to play the game. Every type of racing in the game, besides test drive, rewards the player with money. Just like many racing games before it, you need to play to progress.
There has to be a line in the sand at a certain point. If not, then what exactly are credits for. Regardless of vip rewards these cars arent that expensive. Within a few hours youd make enough to buy the cars and complete the championships.

I don’t mind playing the game to earn rewards at all; I’m just concerned about finding the right balance in grinding, especially for players who didn’t pay extra for credits boost

I agree with what you’re saying, but racing games before didn’t have the fomo aspect, FM7, FM6, it was all there for you to race and go through to get credits to get cars. Now we have time limited stuff and people are feeling like it’s not enough time to get credits to get multiple cars needed to unlock the series/open cars.

I didnt mean you specifically i meant more in general, for people who read my comment and might have taken offense.

Im pretty sure 6 had prize cars for participating in league races and 7 had forzathon which gave cars and money for doing various things. People have more than a month to do these races. The race cars arent cheap but theres plenty of time to get the money up.
I know what theyre doing is technically a fomo technique, but whats the alternative. We either race the few championships to get the free cars or we pay money for them, personally i prefer the free route as i wouldnt pay anything more than what i have already.
Would you rather wheelspins or loot crates, theyve done this in the past, people didnt like them. Imo this game doesnt really have much going for it, its not particularly engaging hence the reliance on fomo. Could it have been implemented better, sure, should it have been done better, absolutely, but this is what we got.
My math might be a little fuzzy, but the current 32-race featured “Road to Race” single-player career series requires buying 8 pricey cars (if you don’t already own them) to meet the entry requirements (plus additional optional spending to buy parts/tuning upgrades)…
…but I don’t think the total payout from all the races in this series combined adds up to the spending needed to enter, so the series puts players in a funding deficit after at least 5 hours of racing.
I think all events/series should have payouts far exceeding the entry costs so that players will have ample credits to buy & upgrade the cars required for the next event/series.

I dont think any forza or gran turismo career races have ever really paid enough, thats why they have level up bonuses, car rewards etc. If you look at this case in a vaccum you are correct, but in the larger picture its pretty much par for the course.
I definitely have my complaints about this game, but at a certain point people seem to be complaining just to complain. If someone wants the reward cars they have to buy the required cars and complete the races, thats kind of it.
The game is almost a year old, most people besides new players should have enough money to buy the cars. If they dont theres plenty of ways to make money to afford them. If they dont want to do this, then theres not much else to say.
Oh man why people complain, when this game have probably cheapest cars in Forza history, and definitely cheaper than any modern game (gt7 or unbound are just straight grind fest), u do some races/ or just lap rivals and will get enough money.
I understand that u don’t want to buy cars u won’t ever use, so just don’t do fomo, or u can turn on auto drive and go eat or something, “free” credits.

Fair enough. The cars in this game are probably the cheapest by far in Motorsport (as far as I can remember).

For people that are just returning monthly to play the FOMO races, I think the prices of the required cars might be too high or the race payouts in them are too low. For those players, I wouldn’t be surprised if being required to buy expensive cars just to even enter the races might be counterintuitive to “engagement”.
If you’re doing other races, have VIP, auto drive or making credits through other means I can see how it’s not an issue at all
In other FM games the races are always available, so while there’s usually a bit of work to get the required cars you’re not going to miss out either.

They could just give the players the option to rent cars instead of buying them.

Though I totally understand the train of thought, I think the tactic here is mainly to get people to at the very least try cars that they may not like or have any interest in. I did personally purchase the premium edition that comes with the xp boost, but I find myself in a situation where I now have +$27mil credits. Most of it was earned playing featured MP, another vast majority was from playing rivals to grind both car xp and credit xp. But I get it, not everyone can put 6 hours of gameplay in a day over 3 days(I work overnights so I usually log more then 6, but we’ll say 6 for the sake of arguing). Reality is, there is no such thing as a perfect game, otherwise, there would be no other games to compete since everyone will be playing that one perfect game. Considering the game is only one year old, I like to believe that ths devs are going to make this a painfully long project and impliment ideas so long as they suit the budget, but if there are no players, there will be no budget. Make the best of what you got is the only advice I have, I’m afraid, but of course, I don’t expect the game to be in this state forever, I believe it will get much better in time.
Yep, that’d make the most sense imo.
