[FADE] TOP 50 Open Source 69 Fairlady

Reposting this from old Forums for any new folks who happen along.

Been in love with the 69 Fairlady since I was a wee lad.

Also loved them from Forza 2 on ward.

Have been working on a few versions in different classes recently and managed a top 50 today on Sebring Short this morning.

Thought I’d share it as open source with the community.

Feedback welcome, and tweak away on her!

I really like this tune and the base car in the real world, a true classic!! I mangaed 124th at Sebring short with a 1.22.384 and im by no means a LB driver, great work and thankyou!!

If you haven’t picked this up…do it. Now.

Fade I’m so glad you saved this as I still haven’t picked up the DLC. I will be trying when I do though!

Fantastic setup mate! A blast to drive!

A real nice tune on a fun car to drive. Easy handling and you can push it hard.

Thanks for sharing this Mr Fade, I got #89 using your build with a small tweek to the brakes. Your setting benchmarked at 105.0’ 60 to 0 & 270.2’ 100 to 0. I used 110% pressure, with the balance set at 54 the benchmark gives the stopping distance 100.3’ 60 to 0 & 263.8’ 100 to 0. Just experimenting with the benchmark using 100% pressure 56 shortens the stopping distance to 103.9’ from 60 and 267.0’ from 100. Might be worth trying =)

This car is definitely a winner and the rest of you should give a go!

I was able to get into the top 100 even though I’m not that great in lower class speed tunes. That should give an indication of how good this tune is.

I made the mistake of installing your tune first and then removing it to apply the open source numbers. When I did this, the supercharger options do not exist in the engine parts section. That just meant that I run your tune the way it is and it worked good for me. I’ll need to buy another 69Z and build it up from scratch if I want to adjust it.

Thanks Mr Fade

Happy folks are enjoying this , and tweaking .
Will give the tweaks a try myself .

Big thanks for the feedback everyone !

wanted to try this one tonight, but following the build, ended up with a B501…any suggestions…or has anyone else run into the problem of ending at B501?

Its the 3.7 L engine swap, correct?

Yes the 3.7 L engine, haven’t had anyone else post problems with build yet, but when I get home tonight I will double check Chicken.

I’ll start over on the build (maybe I did something wrong)…but it was a brand new car purchased specifically to put your setup on

…the only way I could get it to 500 last night was to not install the side skirts, or to drop the rims from the Crager ones listed in the build list.

I had a few of these in FM4 but haven’t bought one on FM5 yet. Will try this over the weekend and see what I can accomplish. Thanks for sharing.

I have a competitive A700 tune for the Fairlady Z if you want to check it out.

didn’t have success last night in rebuilding the car.

If you wouldn’t mind, could you post the car weight, hp and torque…?

I imagine I’m placing the wrong body kit parts on it…

Ahhh I think I figured out what happened Chicken.
I said in Aero 3rd Nissan…what I should have said was 3rd part–Nissan #2

In anycase Power 395hp Torque 302lb-ft, weight 1,972 lbs Displacement 3.7L

Will go back and edit OP now.
My bad sorry for the confusion.

yup, that is what it was…god that is an ugly nose lol…I’m going with the other Nissan nose with the Cyclops style driving light…both are ugly. Let’s hope it is fast.

Add the other hood and you get a total of 7 headlights!! Now that is a thing of beauty…lol

Very nice tune. I had to make a few adjustments to my regular driving style to get the best out of the car but it is competitive from the start. There are still a few spots to get to the best time for the Fairlady Z '69 at Sebring Short.

PB: 1:21.199

Nicely done, will add you to my list of tuners to follow.

too many adult beverages…but still did turn in a 1:22.7 (#180) on Sebring Short…just since it seems that most are running this there.
rear definitely wants to kick out under acceleration, feels like an A class car with no tires…but does accelerate, no joke.

1:13.9xx on Sebring club (#283)…god this thing must be awesome in multiplayer lobbies with the acceleration.

I think it almost as too much braking…maybe spend the PI in another area?

again, this is with adult beverage goggles on.

in any event, these were both 2 second improvements over what I had…and that is worth a cookie and a thumbs up.
