Hey all,
Last month, myself, SpeeedK1LLz and FV SRacer71 held an invitational teams event to kickstart a new community format in response to Turn 10’s amazing efforts to… Well… Not support team racing at all. The event was a great success, with us having to make multiple lobbies on the day to match an unexpected surplus of players who found out word-of-mouth as so to say.
----Brief Intro / Back story----
Name’s John, recently joined the Forza bandwagon after years of friends teasing over how I still played PGR4 up until March this year (don’t ask why).
In my short amount of time, I’ve made some very interesting friends, rivals and straight-up enemies (damn hoppers). In a nutshell, I have been fortunate to take the same suit as my PGR pals (XPOWER 89, Payton2086, Kasparov45, PLAT1NUM AI, one chance lou) and got a grip of Forza 6 quicker than I thought — this lead to myself and those named receiving challenges by others in clean and dirty races. We took them for a laugh and word swiftly got around.
Next thing you know, some random Americans that no one could possibly know about (cough FAA cough FV cough ERS) fancied a proper face-off with us odd lot. We won 3-0 and now they want revenge in an official way…
-----Memoirs over------
Last time, we already had an exceptional turnout of leaderboard record holders, league winners and tournament finalists. This time, it’s even bigger and better. Let me explain:
3 Races, 10 Laps, No Quickstops, Collisions On.
Teams are scored on combined individual scores/positions — any PGR fans here will be very familiar with the standard teams point system. Best of 3 wins the event. Simple.
Well, not entirely. We all figured early on that the best way we can keep competition fair whilst merit-based is with a delicated restrictions list for cars (yours 33 Stradales, VW BEETLES, KTM X-BOWS, so forth) and class-specifix engine bans. People moaned at first with “but but i want the speeds” and so we proved them that you can still get Top 100, 50 and 30 times our way along with Top 5 Hardcore times.
The upcoming AMERICA VS EUROPE event has already brought a lot of top players onto the waiting list to get in on the fun. Here’s a few:
EMW VENOM
RS Attila / AttilaRacer
ERS Hornet
ERS Sterilizer
FV Electric (formerly AGM)
FV ExposedKarma
ONR PUKKA DUK
Henchman Hen
Abdul H 999
JSR Gav
JSR Devon
JSR Rossi
I’ll spare writing everyone down, but you all get the idea. We’re not messing around. And that’s just for our A Team lobby (8 vs 8).
We have 30 others wanting in for B Teams, C Teams and more, and I’m happy to pull extra weight to accommodate any fine folk on here who want some genuine racing action beginning to end. This event is planned to begin late afternoon British time (GMT) with commentary coverage on Twitch and the main A Team event beginning at around 7pm GMT - all to be finished off with a friendly destruction derby. Now who doesn’t like the sound of that.
To all who want in, theirs 3 things you need to do by Saturday 30th July to participate:
1.) Follow moi (Jon1289, Europe’s captain and general T.O.) for updates on event times, team standings and any last minute changes that may be subject to happening.
2.) Put some sexy clean times down on the following three tracks
- Road America (B Class) - no Boneshakers or Alfa GTA’s
- Spa Daytime (A Class) - no 33 Stradales
- Watkins Glen Full (S Class) - no #71 or #72 Ferraris
3.) Be a jolly good sport and let others know about this event made by the players, for the players!
