Hi guys and girls, this is my first time here but I am a big forza fan, not sure if this is the right place for this post but I was wondering, I have a Lamborghini Miura and I can swap out the stock engine for a V12 Diablo SV engine, is it a good or bad idea?
I’m sure the standard Miura engine could be upgraded to match the Diablo SV engine but the character of the engine would likely be different.
I don’t believe the Miura lacks significantly in power as standard. Normally benefits greatly with grip, handling and driveline upgrades as a baseline even with the standard engine.
Unless you really love the Diablo engine over the Miura engine, I would personally see if I hit the limits of the Miura engine and still found it lacking, THEN I would start on the Diablo engine - but personally I like seeing how far I need to take a standard engine until I am happy with it or find it the chassis needs even more.
I also prefer more oddball engine swaps. A V12 for a V12 doesn’t really do it for me most of the time. From previous Forzas, I enjoyed swaps that add extra cylinders (Veyron motor into the EB110), drastically change swept volume, reduce cylinder count (FM3 Mustang Cobra with a Ford RS200 engine - wow!), mixture compression method (piston to rotary) or to experience an engine I love in a different chassis (the E60 M5 V10 mounted in the back of the M1).
FH2 and FM5 with cross manufacturer engine swaps are a bit strange and new to me. So far I’ve only changed up the Alfa 4C with the Ariel Atom V8 and that was a heap of fun.
Actually now that I think of it, doesn’t the Miura get the Ferrari Enzo V12 and not the Diablo?
The Enzo engine will overpower it for sure. You’d be going from 261kW to 485kW almost doubling the power output.
I drove the Miura around the map last night trying it under many different conditions and my original comments still stand. It could do with a tyre upgrade, some stiffness added to the chassis, a gearbox + clutch upgrade and a suspension upgrade. I think the engine has a good amount of power and torque but it wouldn’t hurt to give it a bit more. If you want the engine to rev out to higher RPMs go for camshaft upgrades first to get some more power.
Make that your starting point and see how you feel about it from there. I didn’t actually try out any of the upgrades myself, just drove the stock version to get a feel for it, but those are my initial thoughts.
