Drifting... Why so different to FH4?

I have three starred all bar one drift zone in FH4 and it’s expansions but cant drift for peanuts in FH5 - WHY!!!

Wonder if it’s because of the “disconnected” feeling you get through the steering… seems way to much lag which leads to overcorrection…

Im thoroughly enjoying how the drifting feels on H5.
I use sim steering on a pad fwiw

I have no problems drifting in any Forza’s. There are differences in 4 to 5 though and it could just be the difference between tuning, or how you drift.

Because it has different physics and lag/filter on input. Drifting is very different then even I can see some similarities with H4.

To me it kinda feels like there’s some kind of assist that keeps you held at angle longer when going straight while drifting.
Also it feels way less easy to spin out. I’m not a massive fan of it because it lowers the skill ceiling and makes clean drifting less impressive imo.

This!! I find the drifting alot more difficult in this game. Even with an FD car or a car tuned with drift parts the grip is too much. Back end either won’t kick out or just snaps and spins out. Looks like I’ll have to adjust tunes and technique.

I usually have problems drifting, but I simply put drift tires and a drift differential on the Jimmy (with the racing diesel engine) and was 2-starring drift zones on a once through.
