Drift help needed

Hello all,

I’ve spent the last three evenings trying (and failing miserably) to get the California Drifter achievement. The best I’ve done so far is just over 11k, using hundreds of rewinds and I just can’t see how to get another 4k out of the track this way, so I’ve decided to go for a different approach and try and learn how to drift properly.

This is the first exposure to drifting I’ve ever really had, so I guess I’m a total newb. I’ve watched quite a few youtube videos etc. to try and understand how it all works and I suppose getting 11k means I can sort of do it, but I’d much rather have someone teach me properly than just keep banging away at the “square peg, round hole” rewind approach.

So if there’s anyone out there that’d be willing to give me a few pointers I’d be really grateful. I’m in the UK and am available most nights from 8pm onwards. I don’t mind staying up to cross over with people in the US either. This is the last achievement I need and I’m a bit of a completionist so I’m happy to put the time in to get this done.

All the best and thanks in advance to anyone willing to help me out.

11k is not bad at all for someone as you said being a first time.

One tip I would give out to you is to obviously take your time with it try and practice the track, one thing you should do is enter corners early. Try and find where the points start coming up on the screen, so this way you will be collecting as many points as you can.

another would be try and link up more than one corner wherever you can.

I’m not sure how else I could help you apart from saying practise and keep practising! Good luck

(Someone else will probably give some better tips than myself :stuck_out_tongue: )
