They’ve indicated there’s more options for customizing your character, so the “dress up” part, at least, is thankfully returning.

I believe the blurb for the VIP Membership on the Microsoft Store mentioned something about emotes. So sadly, yes, emotes will be returning.

I totally agree. The dress up and all the dancing very nearly ruined the game for me.
