So… what happens when you get a message from [Mod Edit - D] a gamer (xbox one) saying that you’re being reported for cheating… “starting before the count down so get shamed on youtube”
I responded “Starting before the countdown? I didn’t do that. My S2 class car has all wheel drive and gets a good jump off of the line… I tuned it properly… I don’t cheat nor know how to do so.” He responds “You will be reported to xbox so you are a cheater”… and “well live game rec shows otherwise so get put to shame on youtube.”
What? Really? I have 8 Top 10 Rivals times… and know how to tune a fast car… but cheating? NEVER. So what now?
Remove the other player’s GT from your post (naming and shaming is against forum rules).
Don’t worry about it. If you didn’t cheat, the Xbox Live enforcement team will know. The other player likely experienced a lag in his connection, and jumped to conclusions. Plus, he’s obviously butthurt over losing to you.
I’ve had a lot of people bluff threats like this before.
If they have too high an opinion of their own skill/ car then they’ll believe that nothing legit can beat them, so anything going faster must be cheating.
Also it can be connection - which makes it a genuine issue for both sides. You might well have driven legitimately on your screen, and he might well have seen you taking an early start. Personally I’ve never encountered this on any Forza so I’m not inclined to believe this is the case. What I have encountered is cars glitching over the track, sometimes slingshotting to the rear and then front of the pack whilst still waiting on grid. If he’s seen this right before the race started, he’s maybe assumed it’s been you driving rather than the game glitching.
As others have said though, naming and shaming will get you a slap on the wrist regardless of whether you’ve done anything else wrong.
If you havent done anything wrong then just ignore him, the Xbox team will not punish you. I had this happen in the first Horizon, in a race I won with my Pagani Huayra and some noob accused me of cheating, ignore it.
There are some cheaters though, sometimes it’s odd how it works.
I was in A class car against a X class, AFAIK I should of had AT LEAST 30 second headstart, but he started at the same time as me and whizzed to the finish line extremely quickly say to say, that’s not lag, that’s a clear hack! Another example was a D class and B class, usually 20_+ seconds headstarts, launched off the line the same time as me and road up a wall then glitched out and quit…safe to say, not lag!
Sometimes people are just epic, and even with a head start then still blitz me at the end, but I know they ain’t cheating.
But in showdowns if you ever see a higher class than you go at the same time as you, it’s definately a cheater as you are ALWAYS given a least a 10 second head start. if you are up/down a single class.
Sorry about the naming and shaming… I logged off and it appears a moderator corrected/edited before I logged back in and had a chance to. My apologies and forum rules noted. I sent a message to the particular gamer asking for a link… because I legitimately wanted to see what he saw… but got no response. My first guess, though I couldn’t tell because he left my lobby, was that he was new to fh2… and didn’t realize that S2 got a slight rolloff to his X class. I just wanted to make sure the xbox team didn’t ban me for something I didn’t do. I’m assuming they can look at the code and tell if someone is using an exploit… but I’m not a computer guru… just a good racer.
I believe the extreme hack allowing x class (or any higher class) to start at the same time as lower class cars has been patched. But to correct your last sentence… note that there is not a 10 second head start between S2 and X class. I believe it’s only 2 or 3 seconds.
Thanks all for the feedback. I’ll remember to ignore any future troll messages from this user.
I think a 2-3 second delay makes sense at that level, given that the difference between S2 and X may not be all that significant. If he hasn’t offered to show you the video, he was probably just reacting in the moment, and was blowing off steam and making an idle threat.
