Don't brake into corners

If you do the illogical thing of hitting the brakes going into a CORNER you will for sure get spun out. So remember when racing on this Racing Simulator, don’t hit the brakes when going into a corner!!! Am I butt hurt? YES. Do people race with honor on this game? NO.

Most do race clean but its the few that are dirty that stand out.

it is definitely the minority that don’t break. but coming here telling others not to break isnt going to help that

Especially since the majority of the problem players probably aren’t even aware these forums exist nor do they care.

I don’t always use brakes but when I do I use your car lol that’s a saying me and my cousin come up with due to people not using brakes lol

Typical. And to the dude that took my post literal and not sarcastic, WOW.

It only takes one idiot in a full Livy of clean drivers to mess everything up. Particularly in the first turn.

It’s funny - this is exactly why the best online multiplayer racing experience I’ve ever had was with the original MotoGP on the original Xbox when XBL first launched. In MotoGP, when you went off track, you would either go down or at least be off track for a LONG time. After a couple of races, anyone who had a clue knew that all you needed to do was back off on the first corner of the race and let all of newbies or griefers crash into the dirt, THEN you could begin the race. Anyone who made it past the first corner (or sometimes the first 2 corners), was worth racing with. I think a lot of that had to do with the incredibly unforgiving nature of racing motorcycles. With cars, it seems much easier to barrel into corners and wreck people like an idiot without totally taking yourself out of the race in the process.

All these years later and still, some of the closest, cleanest and most competitive online racing I’ve ever participated in were in that game. MotoGP on the original Xbox. If I recall correctly, it was the first real “production” racing game on XBL. The only thing before it was the beta RC car racer called “ReVolt”. Those were the days, indeed.

If you ever raced a real motorbike (as I do) , especially 1000cc (as I do), you do know that venturing into the gravel or hitting the brake when leaning in a corner is like meeting the ground quite hard in no time
In a car you cannot fall from your ride: that’s why bike riders are more respectful even when racing…
That said, I’ve seen lots of cars pile up at ht first corner, and let me slip peacefully through the wreckage
Thats why I always prefer long races (5-6 laps and more)

I thought that I had noticed in the last few days that folks were racing cleaner than usual. Maybe I just got lucky with a few lobbies.

Most people just use the back of my car for brakes

I think we should set up a thread requesting public created lobbies just like forza 2 that was my best experience of this game series. Didn’t really race online with 3 & 4 down to playing different games. But it would be nice again to have this option and then the lobby creator can kick those with no mic and those who crash into others IMO. Fair enough there a voting part but not everyone talks or in private chat.

Slow in, fast out…

So i was going to start a thread about how excited i was when i got a message on my XBL. I have some T10 friends and they must be looking at some of our videos of crashers. I got a message from one and said that this guy that has wrecked me for the past few days over and over again has been banned for 7 days and told why he got banned. To all those wreckers people are watching so please keep it clean.

trail braking is a part of racing and if your not using it your not a complete driver.
it can be difficult to master but to say NEVER use it is somewhat naive.
and yes i understand many drivers on FM5 that try to do it just end up making contact and yes that is frustrating, but that is not the fault of a driving technique, its the fault of the driver.

I’ve been racing for a very long time now, either it be Forza, Iracing, or GT. I Run a racing league, and I’ve called races for Iracing. So I have a few random things to say on this topic. It’s all about give and take, respect and skill. There are times to drive it in deep, attempt to out brake the guy next to ya, and intimidate the guy in front of ya. Wrecks can sometimes happen, with that being said if you bump a guy and it’s an honest mistake just apologize, give the spot back ( unless the last lap, drive your heart out) and get back to racing hard.

Now there are people who have blatant disregard to other people around them, and think the car in front of them is their brake and that can sour a race in a heart beat. I honestly see that majority of the contact comes at the start of the race, as everyone drives into corner one with blatant disregard to everyone around them because they want to be up front, and think the race is over after the first corner. Now myself I enjoy picking my spots, over taking drivers and driving up through traffic. Also a great thing to keep in mind you are not going to win every race! It’s about having a good time, making friends, having a great battle for positions. Also find a group of clean racers, become friends and just race with them.
