Is there a way to set up an event or custom mode where a driver is only allowed a specific number of laps (and class) to get his best time and then lock them out? It would be great to use this as a way to get friends together into a time trial race without having everyone log on at the same time for a mp race (different time zones) but also prevent unlimited retries. Would make it more competative.
from what i’ve seen in the menus, i cant find anywhere that could do that.
I’m not aware of anything like this but I like it. Really make you focus on each lap.
one way you could do it is by giving everyone a notice of ‘ok everyone has till 10pm UK time’ (for example) to set a time, and then ask them to post a screen shot before then as evidence (be handy to have your own forum for this). A bit of a carry on, but only way round it really.
a knock out feature by lap time . kinda been waiting on that one since forza 3. its a great idea for a race by the way. but i’m pretty sure it’s not possible with this game.

Thanks for the replies… doesn’t seem like there’s a good way to do this. My friends and I have been/are racing with a deadline time (ex. Tuesday by midnight) but I find that it promotes a back and forth rivalry which is good and all… but I also wanted to see if there’s a way we can limit the retries so you are only allowed to submit your best time after a set number of laps (no more retries afterwards). And it’s really difficult to get everyone in different timezones into a mp race at the same time so it would be nice to create an event that people can join when they have the time.
problem with you idea is that yes you can give ppl cut off time and date but a pic of their time does not show the set up used so they can then post a pic and you have no way to check if they kept to build rules.
also this doesnt even mean they set the lap time, if they have friends better than them they can ask the friend to do the laps for them, the best way is to have them all in a qually lobby at same time.
yeah but he said he cant get everyone in a lobby at the same time. On a previous series I ran, for someone who couldnt make the race, I gave them an option of a timed run with me in it , so when they did their 30 lap race, i noted down (and photo of events screen) their overall time, so I could them compare to the race on race night with everyone else where that person would of come. Onyl downisde, less traffic so in theory more of a hot lap session for that person, but it was te cloest thing we could do without excluding that person for that race.
Currently, we’re only doing rivals mode where you are set to a class and we can see the leaderboard times. That’s been working to a limit - as was mentioned, you can’t get too specific with the build.
As far as cheating goes… my friends and I are adults and pretty tight nit group so I trust them to be honest within the game.
