Just wondering if it takes driver weight as a factor when showing the weight of the car or the braking distance/acceleration time. Can’t drive a car without a body in the drivers seat!
It may. It may not but why would that matter. You don’t fill out a driver profile and all drivers would be the stig or stigs cousins… so they would all have the same weight. Matters none.
It matters alot. Think about it, say the average weight of the driver is around 160-170lbs. After you’re done tuning and modifying your car it weighs around 2700-3000lbs for S class and below, 1400lbs for x class cars. That 170lbs is roughly 7% extra weight in S class and below and over 12% Extra weight in X class which is a TON and performance results can be drastically different in areas such as braking and acceleration.
Ruffly 100lbs results to a tenth of a second in a quarter mile. So it does make a difference but if everyone is on the same setup it doesn’t matter plus im sure when they tested car in real life someone was driving it. There are no settings that would make a difference in this game because you can’t corner weight balance a car you have no control over individual wheel changes in the tune.
The mathematics in this forum is just mind blowing. You car racing dudes are math wizards in here.
How did you know this?
Make sure if you’re trying to believe the game uses the player weight, that you also include the chair you’re sitting in Those playing from their couch are at a definite weight disadvantage. LOL!
Haha! That was a good one!! Lol!
Jeremy on Top Gear once claimed that The Stig doesn’t actually weigh anything. Zero mass.
I got a message from someone on Xbox LIVE a couple days ago, telling me I should always race in bumper view. He claimed there is no aerodynamic drag slowing down the car in that view, like the other views which expose the body to the wind at speed.
I was laughing so hard I deleted the message before I checked the gamertag.
P.S. If you are reading this, and are the person who sent the message, it really would be better if you never claimed doing that.
That was by far the funniest thing I’ve read all day lol!!
***The P>S is hillarious… You would think that you wouldn’t have to say that.
My brother thinks that the game gives assistance to Cockpit view over 3rd person… Anything is game. I told him he should just practice and get better. Or if he thought it gave an advantage utilize it.
Just wondering if I should be accounting for wieght distribution as well… I’m short so I need the seat closer to the front. Also does anyone have a formula for spring settings in the hummer that includes a coefficient for a phone book?
This answers a lot of questions for me. I was wondering why I always finished towards the rear of the field. Upon further inspection, I noticed my drivatar was set to “fat bastard”
They could use the Kinect to estimate the player’s weight in real-time… lol!

Yells out 12 year old daughter’s name - "come here, stand there in front of the Kinnect, ok – you can give me the controller back… w00t now am racing as 90# 5-2 person instead of 250# 6’ person…
I think the proposed would be a tad bit more realism then I would like, to be honest. I really don’t need Forza telling me I’m fat too, get enough of that from the wife.
Should we also take into account whether the car is a left hand drive or right hand drive? That should in my opinion require different car settings if driver weight is taken into account…
At 6’4" 255, I have often wondered how much driver weight is taken into account in RL motorsports. It seems like most pro drivers are really tiny.
Not sure about other motorsports, but in NASCAR, there’s a minimum weight limit (180lbs) that needs to be met - by using ballast if the driver weighs less than the limit. Here, tiny drivers–like Danica Patrick–have a disadvantage, as they have less muscle but needs to race around extra weight. At the same time, drivers weighing in at more than 180lbs have more weight in total to race around, so I assume most drivers aim for 180lbs if possible.
Does anyone know of any weight limits/rules in other motorsports?

In f1 the biggest driver I believe is Kimi at 160# or something rifht around there.
