Does a steering wheel help your performance?

Hi guys, so I’m thinking in offering myself a steering wheel to play Forza, the TX F458 Italia Edition to be precised. The decision is not taking yet so, I just would like to read your opinions about how much playing with a steering wheel helps you playing better, getting better times and win races, or does it just improve the fun?

With the controller I play with all assists off, except the steering which I put normal instead of simulation. If I buy the wheel, should I change it to simulation?

For more discussions regarding the various wheels, I would suggest you look through http://forums.forza.net/turn10_topics65_Hardware-and-Peripherals.aspx .

My opinion: Wheel! If you go out on a city street and watch cars go by how many people do you see using a controller? None.

The immersion is wonderful, though there is a learning curve, and the game(s) are much more enjoyable on the Xbox One. The Thrustmaster TX 458 Italia is my choice (I have one) for the new console, though I primarily got it for Forza Motorsport 5. I does work very well in Forza Horizon 2, also.
