So far Driver’s Cap plays more like Wreckfest. There are way too many cars on starting grid to win the race in 3 laps with competitive drivatar difficulty and sometimes you hit rewind every 10 seconds because some AI constantly crashes into you. It must be less AI cars in race or more laps to make it work, because to win the race now I must overtake 11-14 cars
Of course there is an exelent Free Play where I can do any race I want
Forza 3 and 4 were barely playable with 8 and 12 cars on the track. 24 is way too much. I play Free Play with 16 and even then there are plenty of crashes because the Drivatars are terrible and bang into me and each other all the time.
I like around 8-12. My OCD is bad so I can’t even have a single scratch on my car when I race. Of course this is impossible with 23 other Drivatars on the loose, so I end up hitting the rewind button a lot when they crash into me for no reason.
If you go to [Assists] you can change the race length of Forza Drivers’ Cup events, either doubling or tripling the default lap count. That should give you more time to safely make it through the field.
I prefer 25…reduce your fields a little if it bothers you, or increase your race length. I changed my default event length in the Forza Cup events to Long and usually run unbeatable. Good earnings too if you are always short on case like I usually tend to be. I finally got thru all the $1M + reward cars, and now its gone back to pretty much all cars under $400K so they are free. Money is slowly building back up.
It should be 16. In single player you never see half the field anyway. In multiplayer you rarely even have full servers, most of the time having more players just leads to more wreckers overall.
I agree with it being 16 BUT when it comes to simulation racing in the league, I prefer 24. It might be best to hang back in the very beginning because everyone dives on the first turn but it yields high rewards if other drivers wreck and ruin their cars. Basically you just have to finish in a higher place than you began
You should see the race I just did on Circuit of the Americas in exotic GT. There’s a tight chicane half way through the lap with a tyre wall on the inside and for some reason on every lap at least one drivatar seems to be completely incapable of negotiating it without hitting the tyre wall, then rejoining or spinning back onto the track at 90 degrees and colliding with the rest of the field. It’s hilarious to watch and made for a very easy win.
Watching 5 drivatars trying to squeeze side-by-side through the first few turns at Long Beach is always hilarious (especially when one ends up mounting the hedge on the roundabout), for some reason every time I race there in Career the AI breaks and the same couple of drivatars have to pit EVERY lap (as if their damage isn’t actually being repaired), on Extra Long races they’re often 10 laps down by the end
Lol, I did a race where a Drivatar was stuck up in that hedge on the roundabout for half the race. I felt bad for him so I eventually knocked him down.
24 car lobbies are awesome. Starting last on “long” “unbeatable” and finishing with contact not knowing if you are going to pass the leader before the finish line is exciting. On a 8 lap race you don’t have to be in 1st place by turn 2 or 3, patience goes a long way to making a great race.
