Do I have to drive with tc off in certain cars!?

I just recently started playing using manual with clutch and it’s been working out really well. I usually just have tc on to help me out but I noticed in the #5 lotus 77 car at the beginning of the race I can have my finger mashed on the accelerator and the revs will jump up for a split second and then go right back down and continue doing this until I hit about 25 or so mph then the car will take off. Why is this?

I don’t use TCS on those cars and I have the same problems sometimes.

If you didn’t have TCS on and you did this then you would stay in the higher revs and just spin your tires

Better to ease on the accelerator instead of just holding it down

Go into the 70s F1 league and every single person in the lobby will have their turn at stalling off the line at some point, not every time mind you but every odd race. It doesn’t matter what you do.

I run manual without clutch and when I jam on the accelerator with the E23 off the start this happens to me too, what OP is describing

I think what the OP is describing has to do with the TSC being on in this specific case, I know about the stalling issues though

on some cars it’s better to throttle control with TCS off and 0-100% deadzone.

I haven’t run the lotus but is it one of the cars that work better in manual (no clutch?)

I run manual with a clutch and no tcs on most of my cars, unless they are higher classes such as R, P, and X. I have had the stalling happen with the tcs turn on and off. The way that I have seen to help with the stalling issue at the beginning of the race is to hold down the clutch button with the revs up until right after the start, if not it will stall out at the line. This also works if you crash or spin out to get the revs up to get back into the race faster.

Most race cars in R, P and X Classes will stall on the line if you’re using Manual with Clutch. We don’t know if it’s a bug or a quirk of the physics system, Turn 10 haven’t stated either way.

You have 2 options to help remedy this:

  • Do not use the Manual with Clutch option
  • Rapidly press the clutch button after you launch, while at full throttle.

I used this car last night in Career - BAM Python tune and I stalled it first go at RIO but otherwise it shot off the line for the other 5 races normally - (I use no TCS, STM, ABS and Manual w/ Clutch) - I suggest if you are having issues to use manual (NO clutch) and the issues will go away - it is not a TCS problem
