Disabling assists no longer provide 'bonus' XP?

Hi guys,

Either it’s hidden and added on in the background to your base experience and credits or Turn 10 has removed a key benefit of making the game harder for one’s self. It appears that disabling assists are irrelevant to the amount of credits and experience issued at the end of a race on Forza 7.

The only determining factors seem to be:

1 - Finishing position
2 - Drivatar difficulty
3 - Mods used

Could anyone please confirm or debunk that assists no longer grant any bonuses other than faster / slower lap-times in certain circumstances?

Cheers.

This was confirmed by Mechberg in the debut livestream. The Mods encourage you to use more difficult Assist settings, and the Mods provide the bonus factor.

So no incentive to drop them in Multiplayer then, oh well…

Seriously? Ive found that not using assist puts you at a huge disadvantage in multiplayer. The least they could do is reward you for it. Ive never used a MOD card. Are they not they disabled online?

do multi player races not allow you to set assist levels? forcing you to use assists if you want the best time? that sounds…odd

Yes you can set assist online. The point I was making is that you cannot use mod cards online therefore there is no way to earn bonus credits and xp for not using assist.

well that’s disappointing that reducing assists has no increase in credits like every other past forza

I agree.

We’re apparently all for “change for the sake of change” now

Wow! I really thought the rumors about this were totally bogus and far fetched. Along with the other questionable changes brought up recently I think I will sit this one out for a while. This will be the first Forza game I didn’t get on release. Hopefully PC2 will keep me entertained in the meantime until they get this sorted out.

So many wrong decisions with this game so far

most of them making Multiplayer a really dull affair

only playing it for single-player at the moment until something changes

… for those who play forza online… if there is no point turning off assists in fm7… why not just go back to fh3… like i said, i wasted my cash… thx microsoft…

It’s awesome, turn all the assists on, and pull the accel trigger. All you have to do is marginally steer! I’ve never played a game this easy! But truthfully I got bored and went back to FH3.

So turn them off and make it a challenge. You should not need an incentive to turn assists off other than it makes you a faster and better racer.

must feel good inside to be a loyalist and neglect the negative aspect that is ruining multiplayer. mhm.

These mod card, what do they do?

They don’t do stuff like +2% grip or +1% accel do they?

This game is making me a WORSE driver…

I’m not the best racer but I do like my immersion so what I always did in FH2-3 and FM5-6 was always turn down all assists, drive in cockpit view but then use a rather easy AI difficulty to balance all that out. In the end that was a lot more fun for me than using a higher difficulty with some assists. I believe in FH3 I typically ran with 75% credits bonus of which about 20% came from the AI difficulty and the rest was from not using assists.

Now comes FM7. No more permanent credits bonus from VIP. No more equipping mods for long endurance races. No more wheelspins for mega rewards. Credits are actually seriously hard to come by now.

Now if I run the assists like I always have in Forza games I get zero credits bonus from that. I think average difficulty is what I often used as well, that nets a total of 0% bonus. The grand total: 0% bonus for my immersion mode, absolutely nothing.

So I came on to this first Spa 100 Endurance race in the Corvetta C7.R. Of course a credits bonus is highly wanted for this 1 hour race. So what did I do to get the most out of it? Difficulty on 60% expert bonus (which is normally way above my skill level for the way I drive). To compensate that I turned on ABS, TCS, TSM, cosmetic damage, automatic gearing (just for lazyness sake), driving line, rewind button and this new friction assists. And then, you can just drive like a compleet noob and still win the race. Blasting through Eau Rouge or Blanchimont through the grass, no problem friction assist will take care of that! (I actually got a whole new racing line at Spa now just abusing all the grass and whatnot) Bump against a tire barrier, hello re-friggin-wind! Every little bit of soul or excitement has been squeezed out of this game because you are not rewarded for driving without assists, it has become utterly dull. But if you want to make the max amount credits out of it, that’s the way to go, turn this game in a full blown arcade NFS-style game for the highest possible credits efficiency…

Turn 10 seriously has to fix this, there needs to be a credit or XP bonus for not using assists. And a few mod cards left or right aren’t helping, if you use them clever you only need to turn off maximum 1 assist per race, use the other mod slots for stuff that is not related to assists.

I get what their are at though, all these changes point into 1 direction and that is microtransitions for real money are a new part of their business plan.

The bonuses were never really an incentive for me to change my settings, anyway.

Well for now it seems that instead of ultimate edition it’s more disapointment editition :x and thats make me sad, a was waiting for the launch like a kid…Damn
