I can’t be the only one that finds the games difficulty to be horrible in game. New Racer for difficulty, with limit aggression on and can’t get past cars or have cars ramming me off the tracks. Turn 10 do the world of gaming a favor and get rid of the horrible Drivatar system you added. The game isn’t even fun anymore. Nothing like a wet track where on NEW RACER, the opposing cars seem to ignore physics or on a regular track cars driving flawlessly. If this isn’t fixed I am pretty sure this will be my last Forza game and I will stick with my PS4.
Sorry haven’t got to playing this yet (took forever to download last night), but is ‘New Driver’ an Assists setting or a Drivatar Difficulty setting?
I just had a look at a video from the demo and it seems that the Drivatar difficulties began at ‘Inexperienced’ and went up through ‘Average’ and ‘Above Average’ and so on… didn’t see a ‘New Driver’… which suggests to me you’re confusing the two difficulty settings.
If I’m mistaken I apologise - should be able to give a better answer later.
I play with driveatars on above average. Yea I get rammed sometimes but when I’m usually rammed it’s a friends avatar and I know damn well they drive like that in game so don’t get mad since it’s based on how they have played and in the past. Rarely does the AI come from behind right before the finish and just pass when shouldn’t. Don’t have any of those problems. If anything I’m about to turn it higher than above average because I always win by such a huge lead. Now as far as the rain that’ll be fixed as soon as people keep driving the tracks with rain and the avatars get better since this is the first time they are driving them. Give them time to learn to drive it and the avatars will follow. At this point most of the ones I play race just as good as the dry tracks but that could be because I have friends that play and not some random driveatars in my game.
I am killing the AI on expert difficulty, the stig on the other hand is killing me. Some tracks I am not as good at and really have to fight it out with the AI to make top 3, other tracks I am almost lapping them. I do not really think the difficulty is broken, just give it a little time for the AI to learn how people drive in this game on the new tracks and it should get better.
The Drivatar system is way better than the AI in Forza 3 where all of the AI followed the racing line exactly, and when I say exactly I mean braking and everything. They were so slow in the corners then would kill you on the straights, at least now the AI are a consistent speed in the corners and straights.
Yes why is it the drivatars of friends who don’t even have Forza 6 drive flawlessly are are able to catch a pass you so easily and then race off into the distance something is definitely wrong and needs to be fixed asap!
If you can’t beat the AI on “New Driver”, you should just give up. Get a refund or something. If you can’t do it with Limited Aggression on, you’d might as well take your Xbox back.
People are playing Pro and higher without limiting aggression so it certainly isn’t as difficult as people make out.
I’ve just got a new G920 and to start with I was so bad with it that I had to have the drivatars on New Racer. It was funny to watch them practically stop in the track and wait for me to catch up. I tell ya I had to laugh.
I’m getting better now - I’m on Average with a way yet to go.
I never actually played on “new driver” (come on!), but up to “highly skilled” I can easily beat the pack even on those new tracks I don’t know yet, after that, it depends on my knowledge of the track (can beat the “unbeatable” AI by miles on the nordscheife for example)
if you get beat by the AI on lower levels, maybe you should consider breaking before corners, play on lower classes as they’re fun and also allow more room for error (like D or C, or even B class)
but if you can’t beat the ai at the lowest setting, you’re clearly doing it wrong (or, the AI is clearly broken and then you should try the second lowest setting, as I’m confident that “below average” or “highly skilled” difficulty settings are coherent.
from “highly skilled” on, the first car usually pulls ahead, by the time you get to 3rd or 2nd place, but the career races are long enough for you to catch up (and I noticed the 1st car tends to slow down towards the end of a given race)
I played with a friend who is not familiar with racing games, most assists on, he beat the game easily on “below average” and “highly skilled” settings
Some people are just to full of themselves, like the guy saying; “Im driving on unbeatable and couldnt tell you”, and this even lamer post from you, where you act like an moron without any good arguments or points. As you can see I been driving this game for a few years. As stated in another post Im not the worlds best racer, but in Forza 5 most of my laptimes where below 300 place, some tracks Im in top 100.
Im not able to progress in career(ultimate series) if I use drivatars. I have to go offline, and when there is this much different settings(new, inexperienced, average, above av, higly skill, expert, pro and unbeat) one of them should ofcourse let inexperienced and newcomers win once in a while. If an average player cant get top 3 no matter what setting the difficulty is, then there is a good chance that there might be something wrong with that tracksettings etc.
Some tracks I can almost lap the highly skilled, next track I cant keep up with inexperienced drivatar. I enjoy the game very much, but to restart and adjust difficulty settings on most races in career is not perfect.
There does seem to be a problem with NEW RACER difficulty, I’ve noticed it too and have made a post in the support section. I’d suggest using a different difficulty until it is worked out.
As for the drivatars: one of these days I’m going to post some videos of what it looks like when I run a race. I just don’t see what a lot of you guys claim you see. My drivatars act remarkably well, responding to me and each other, passing, making mistakes, etc. Then again, I don’t just blast to the front at turn 1… I try to drive at least a little realistically and am rewarded more and more every iteration. Even FM4 which was slammed all over for horrible AI gave me some incredibly realistic races. I don’t know what to tell people any more…
I can’t shake the suspicion that racing is just a lot harder than people want to admit.
When people buy a game with their money they are entitled to play it on the difficulty level of their choice and Forza has always included difficulty levels for every level of player for them to tune the game to the difficulty they choose so therefore for people to say things like “oh if you need to play on the lowest level shouldn’t be playing it” is just plain stupid, if people have paid for a game they have as much right to point out a issue they have with the game as much as the next person so just remember that before making daft and unhelpful comments!
I agree - it reeks of arrogance to dismiss other peoples concern.
We should all embrace the fact we love racing however good or bad we are and have mutual respect. Some of us don’t have time or skill to beat the higher levels.
That being said the lowest difficulty is actually harder than “highly skilled” at the moment because its pulling in two or three super fast racers while the rest of the grid is slow, so you get held up in traffic. On highly skilled the front runnners run similar times but you are not hindered by slower traffic.
Regardless Dan himself has confirmed that there IS an issue and they are looking to address it
Of couse people have different levels of expertise, but new Driver is just too easy. If you can’t beat them on that difficulty, the issue is not with the game, but with lack of practice. With time it will come.
If you use setups for your car (RaceBoy has some very good ones), it will help a lot as well. Also make sure you don’t have auto brake turned on, as that slows you down a lot.
I feel like you guys are beating a dead horse. Dan himself made a post in the other thread regarding this issue and acknowledged that there is a problem and they are working on it.
Also, there is another post from a T10 staff member just above Dan’s.
What I find really frustrating about this forum is that people don’t bother to check if there is another thread on the same issue and just make new threads. It’s really inexcusable when there is already a thread on the same topic on the front page. It makes reading and following very difficult.
