Did lobbies get better?

Yer I have not checked it out yet but it seems like a good idea for more money to be given for beating fast people

It’s refreshing to see a wind of positivity, especially concerning multiplayer online mode.

Ahh it all makes sense now! Past few nights have been awesome racing. It’s nice running in to other fast players by “chance” and getting the surprise clean race. Looks like this is going to be a regular thing now! I agree with Alcadrios, really good to see positive posts on here. Props to T10, keep it up!

Rooms are better but you still get idiots who are out there just to crash you. I was in a room with a Turn 10 employeea few nights back (he had a small turn 10 icon) and he said when you beat drivers that are considered better that your skill would go up and it can also go down. He also said it doesn’t go off your driver level or drivatar and you can’t check your skill points.

Skill score = rivals score? Possibly as its the only real way of getting a true idea of how good you are.

It’s called Trueskill, and has always been there. It used to be visible in Forza 3 but they removed for Forza 4. It’s a level based on the results you have with the competition you compete against. If you get in a lobby with lesser skilled persons and dominate the room odds are your TS will go down or atleast not change. Now, if you have a lower TS and get in a room with higher/similar level TS you can improve your score. That’s as generic a way as I can explain it, there is of course a more technical definition but I’m not exactly sure of the correct terminology.

Not sure what it is, but just tried it for the first time, and it was great!

Realy liking the new update, definiteley a noticeable change… just a bit woried, im not seeing the wreckers, but now more than ever im seeing corner cutting wall riders. It’s honestly the most discouraging display of competition, because i refuse to do it. Worst part being, im not seeing any penalties for their races, just them in first with a dirty ! and myself in second with a clean lap(usually 1 second behind). We need a more severe punishment for those who cut the course and wall ride, not more sticky grass, but more DNF’S (last place in event results, and no credits earned). This way i can still race a clean race, an even though they might have wall rode & cut corners into first place, i will still be able to finish in first, based on a REAL laptime and effort. If this does not somehow change i will start a thread putting all the dirty corner cutters on blast with gamertags, time, track and class for-warning everyone of their unwaranted claim to fame. i say this cause i know of atleast 3 people in these forums guilty of this playing style, but yet they rate them selves in the top tier. I feel that such a thread will fill very quickly and not just from me, i know everyone who races clean has a problem with this.

…DIRTY RACERS WILL BE KNOWN.

Here’s a thread for discussing corner cutting: The ability to cut corners…

No. We don’t allow naming and shaming on these forums.

So you’re telling me you can wreck someone’s online experience, call them a n****er, wreck them incessantly, corner cut, park it on the finish line with a range rover, and rob the racers of their money and levels… but we can’t call them out on that?

Are you honestly kidding me? As if calling people out is wrecking the experience of the offender (the joy of ruining our racing experiences)!

No, I’m not kidding you. If you have problems with players online, you need to file a complaint against such players: Reporting Abuse on Xbox LIVE

Is there some reasonable expectation of results I can get for the large amount of time investment I’m going to need to report 50% of public lobby players for their conduct? I’d hope for the massive amount of time that I’d have to invest that this wouldn’t be just an empty hole for letters from angry patrons to throw their grievances in; yet sadly I expect as much. I think a better use of all of our time is to just, ya know… pass the word along that the public lobby hopper sucks hard. Or we could have hundreds of people writing hundreds of letters each to be looked into by tens of customer service reps/GMs for hours so they can… what… slap each person on the wrist individually? Personally I’d go with with the note-pass but hey, you’re in charge here obviously.

AGREED… if your a moderator for the “official” forza motorsport site. Then there must be a way for you to address this issue directly to turn ten. I bought the game purely for the competition and as it stands right now (even with the update) there is very little, due to the topic i previously mentioned. I purchased Forza as a racing sim, not just another need for speed or midnight club. At this point if you want to win and keep getting gold, wallriding and corner cutting is being promoted. WRONG. The worst issue about all this, is that even if your in the top ten on leaderboards, in a multiplayer lobby you still won’t beat the cheaters (no matter how good you are). That makes me feel sick. Sorry if i sound like im moaning but im not sure where i can go (that i havn’t tryed already) to get at least a “were working on it” or “we are aware”. Please tell us something other than denying the freedom of information given to those eager to avoid this enviroment.

You can contact the developers by email at forzafb@microsoft.com

I’m not believing this sounds far to complicated for t10 to introduce, No offence. I’m speculating its double xp on cod for all the wreckers to leave. Need to have matchmaking back like forza 2 with true skill rank and a weekly comp you have to quallify for. I really missed this and so did friends, whom don’t play forza anymore. Racing is all about competion and this is what was removed. The only place left for it is on the leaderboard and thats the only place you ever see the fastest guys. Its a real shame but nothing gains more interest than competition, so I’d like to see them back

The lobbies are still the same. I just played with a good lobby until a group of 5 came that were clearly slower than the rest of us so they all picked SUVs and wrecked everyone except one person that was with them they wouldn’t wreck so they could get a podium position. They would rotate it in so everyone on their little wrecking team could win. Wall riding in this game still needs to be fixed. A class Indy oval people wall ride the entire time and get 51 sec (dirty) laps, but they are faster than the top 50 fastest players on the A class rival leaderboards. People just can’t play the game fairly which is sad.

why not have it where by if you cut a corner or ride a wall more than 3 times you get black flagged and a DNF with no XP and if you do it more then 3 time on 3 consecutive tracks you get booted out of the lobby.

3 times is too much. I say if they cut a corner twice, their car gets black flagged, ghosted and driven slowly to pit row by drivatar control.

I haven’t played the lobbies for a few days, but it was somewhat of a disappointment, as there was a player that was PO’d at everyone and decided to lurk in a blind corner and then ram them as they passed.
I’m still waiting for the player classification that places such players amongst their own level of stupidity or immaturity.

As confirmed by others, no the lobbies have not got better at all, untill a ghosting lobby is available then you will never expect to get a crash free race. We also have to remember that a lot of these people who ram and crash into you are kids, and kids will be kids! Though there are many people who are adults as you can hear them on the mic who are clearly only in the lobby to cause havoc.

The most annoying are the ones who stay a lap behind and wait for you to come round, if it’s possible could Turn 10 implement anyone who is a lap behind become a ghost to everyone else? As the laps are generally only a few laps long, then even the slowest legit racer would never be that bad that they will get lapped! So it would only have an impact on the people who want to ruin the game.

If this is not possible or too awkward from a coding point of view, how about seperate ghost lobbies? I’d rather have that with a chance of a clean race than being knocked off the road all the time. The thing is one knock or a slight knock is ok, but when you’ve really been hammered off the track and by the time you have recovered, they are there again ready to knock you off, so you get stuck in this back of the pack rutt with people who dont let you get away!

I love clean, side by side racing with people I trust, and the best races and skill is to be able to race flat out right along side someone without being dinged, for me this is when racing games are at their best, but for the sake of a clean race I would sarcrifice that with racing ghosts.
