damage in rivals

Is there ever an advantage to having it on i.e. can slightly worn tyres be faster, or does fuel consumption make the car lighter?

perhaps but i didn’t have the patience to find out. i was having to drive too many slow laps to use the fuel without wearing out the tires. and going all out you’ll wear out the tires faster than you use the fuel on most cars. i ran 90 laps in the chevy indy and never picked up time from the weight reduction of fuel use. i did hit 99% tire wear at which point you are sliding down the track to the infeild in the corner and dont have enough traction to get back up the hill onto the track. an ariel atom uses fuel quickly and i can run it out of gas at about 50% tire wear but i cant control that car so my laps still suck.

If I’m not mistaking using manual with clutch causes damages to the car since you shift without ever letting off the throttle…this can only be avoided by turning off damage. I guess that the benefits of driving with clutch are higher than the ones you can get in a short window of time where the tires are not yet worn out and you have less weight because you are almost without gas.

If you’re doing it right, you press the clutch and shift buttons at the same time. The car will bounce RPMs quickly, but it won’t damage anything.

I know in Forza4 it would damage the transmission if you didn’t hit the clutch but I haven’t seen it so far in 5.

oh well then I was mistaking, I usually drive without damage and I have never checked if never lifting off the throttle could actually cause damage. Good to know anyway.
