So as I’m sure most are aware, the Xbox Live had major issues about 24 hours ago, showing blank achievements with no progress, and not progressing achievements when they were supposed to.
During this time - before becoming aware of the issue - I logged in to FM5 and collected my earnings - ~10k for designs and ~18k for tunes. Obviously at the time it wasn’t counted.
However since the issue has been fixed, I still have not received any progress towards the respective achievements. My totals now are 21,928 credits for my tunes - with “Master Tuner” (earn 15k from tunes) only at 23% (from the ~3k I earned previously) and 20,742 credits for my designs - with “Museum Quality” (earn 15k from designs) currently sitting at 69%.
After contacting Xbox Live Support, they stated this will be an issue they can’t help with, and help needs to come from T10. They did state that the information should be stored on the game / cloud servers, and that the Achievements App would update with progress when it’s back online.
Obviously now it’s back online - however there has been no progress update. From my understanding, the achievements themselves are supposed to credit you when you first receive the message or first open the message with your rewards inside.
My question is - since the messages have already been open - am I now screwed and have to re-earn those credits? Is there any way to fix it? Can T10 do something about it? Has anyone else had this issue after the latest Xbox troubles? Is this information stored in the cloud, and will it update upon earning further credits (i.e., trigger the achievement app to re-read my progress and notice what my total earnings are)?
Disclaimer: yes, I was boosting these achievements with friends. If you disagree with the practice, fine. Regardless of such disagreement, it was still a good chunk of work, and I would prefer to not have to re-do the whole days worth of mind-numbing races.
I realise this is a rather specific, technical and probably uncommon problem with the game mechanics, however I was directed here for support in the FAQ’s, so here’s hoping…
