I prefer not to have ghosting. Only way id ever want it implemented is when there is a large speed difference to hinder malicious divebombing.

Any more then that and you’re no longer racing cars.

The funniest thing about this topic, which is a common one on this board… Is if you sarcastically type “Game of the year!” someone will inevitably comment about the award being due to making the game accessible to blind gamers. Now, while i think it’s cool that the game is accessible to many people; as an observer i can’t help but to find it humorous, albeit dark humor, that one of biggest gripes in a game accessible to blind people is all the turn 1 mayhem, and “rammers.”

Two separate awards though. I doubt it’s awesome accessibility features has much to do with getting racing game of the year.

That was mostly due to its only competition being F1 which is just another EA sports game that gets cloned every year, and then still sold at full price.

And for the record, the blind people I’ve seen playing this game race much cleaner than most. Only watched a couple races though.

Still, the humor aspect persists for me

That’s right, if you are the only game in the made up category for some meaningless awards I’d put money on you winning.

To be fair, if F1 23 was looked at as a game that stands on its own and not shunned because it’s part of an annual series, it should have won that award. It was a complete game, wasn’t missing 90% of the features from the previous installment, had a meaningful career (even a story mode too, if that’s your thing), and had AI that actually knows how to race and put up a good fight. Not to mention that it was widely praised by players (currently sitting at 87% on Steam…Forza is not even half that).

But nope, FM totally is the better game, clearly.

Well i mean, i certainly think it is.

Signed someone with 300+ hours of fm23, and zero desire to even try F1 even though it’s available to me for free. :man_shrugging:

I wonder if it is riddled with micro transactions? If so then it definitely deserved to lose IMO.

Well it’s a good thing the panel of judges who decided the winners weren’t so closed-minded, and gave each of the contenders their fair shot based on facts and gameplay experience, not suppositions and personal biases. Otherwise, we would have had a totally undeserving winner.

Oh wait…

Because of course you know they didn’t🙄

It’s weird how you’re trying to frame my opinion as invalid because i have personal biases. Everyone does and i have no problem whatsoever if you think F1 should have won. In the end it doesn’t matter.

You’re right, it doesn’t matter. I personally am not a fan of EA or their business practices. But to give credit where it’s due, F1 23 was objectively a well-made racing game, which I don’t think many people would argue is the case with FM. Of course you’re entitled to your opinion, I just think it’s strange to throw shade on a game

when you openly admit that you’ve never even played it. :man_shrugging:

Alright that’s a good point. Maybe the judges have played an EA game before and its clouded their judgement just like me so they didn’t even bother to play it.

I agree for the most part EA is horrible, especially with sports games…I’ve been protesting Madden for about 10 years, no way they’ll get my money anytime soon… That said, even madden is a more complete game than FM2023
