Copy Forza Horizon 4 from one PC to Another

Is possible to download it in one pc and copy it to another? My bandwith is a [Mod Edit - Profanity is not permitted - D] and i need to download it in another pc because the download is restarted once or twice a day, so could i copy the game after download it to my pc?

If it’s anything like any other Microsoft Store game then unfortunately not. Unlike Steam, Uplay, Origin, Battle.net, Galaxy, etc the Microsoft Store will not use available files on a new device. You’ll be met with a message akin to “the files are from a different device and must be downloaded again”.

This happened to me when I did a fresh OS install without changing a single component. Had to download hundreds of gigabytes again for no good reason while my games from every other client worked flawlessly. Needless to say Microsoft support got an earful but I doubt they’ll do anything about it. It’s stuff like this that makes people avoid the Microsoft Store and say things like “no Steam, no buy”.

The game will need to be installed on the device in which you wish to play the game on.

oh god… well, i have bought forza but i think i won’t buy anything more from Microsoft Store… i can’t understand why in the xbox games are downloading without problem but store ones are restarting and giving problems…

Yeah. I only use it for the exclusives because, despite the issues, I want to support games like Forza and Halo being on PC.

Like has been said, the Microsoft store is awful compared to pretty much every other game client. Hopefully we’ll eventually have a feature to transfer installed games between PCs, I also have the problem of not-great internet at home (it took me a couple of weeks after buying FM7 on a Black Friday sale before I found somewhere with fast and reliable internet to download it on my laptop, and then another month to find another place so I could also install it on my other PC). Thankfully for FH4 I’m now somewhere with a decent enough download speed and no data caps (upload is only 1 mbit though so multiplayer is still not going to be good) so that I’ll be able to (hopefully) preload the game within a reasonable timeframe.

I’m not holding my breath on the store being improved though, I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a fundamental design choice (flaw?) in the MS store that makes this much more difficult than it should be to copy installed games between PCs.

Well there’s a feedback entry about it in Windows Feedback Hub link and if you want this to happen, upvote it!
