Having arthiritis in both my hands I found the little keypad that attached to my 360 controller a godsend when sending messages or when posting on the forums so much easier than using the controller on its own. Are there any plans in the future to make one available to use with the Xbox One controller as I am sure that other gamers with similar problems would appreciate it greatly.
Have you tried Xbox Glass yet? I just send messages using my phone now.
I am unsure as to whether or not a keypad will come out but here are some alternatives you can use:
Using a laptop with a WiFi connection and Windows 8 or higher, you can download the “Xbox One Smartglass” app and it has a full keyboard feature that allows you to type on your laptop and it goes to the console
I an not 100% sure, but I wouldn’t be surprised if you could type using your voice as well.
Phone not an option as my arthiritis would find that option even harder to master than using the controller plus disability means limited funds cost to message with my phone could be prohibitive. As for using a laptop that could be an option but a small keypad like the one for the 360 would be much preferable and its not as if it would be used only by gamers with health issues such as myself. In combat shoot em ups I believe they are used to contact team mates without using a microphone in a combat situation. When you consider how many of our troops have returned with issues that affect their abilities to game surely anything that could be of assistance to them has to be at least considered and as its already been done for the 360 surely making the same equipment for use on the Xbox One would not be that difficult.
Smartglass is also for Windows 8 PCs and Tablets as well
I love it on my Win8 Laptop, especially since it has a touchscreen.
Forza forums are probably not the best place to ask about future Xbox One hardware developments, but anyway. Xbox supports USB keyboards, wireless ones too. Grab one of those, they are not expensive, and chances are most folks already have one anyway.
